Every growl parts are absolutely perfect, but the clean ones can be improved. By the way, the best "ghost of perdition" vocal cover on youtube, in my honest opinion.
I really liked your Heir Apparent cover and i was curious if you would do more Opeth covers. I watched other covers but your voice came much closer to Mikael voice than others. Keep up the good work!
Great video man, you should really get in a band or something ( if you're not already in one, that is ), you could get pretty far, since you both can scream and sing. Gj.
Bro your vocals are incredible. Wondering if you could tell me a little about how you worked at getting that growl sound? I’m having trouble with false chord stuff
Mikaels gutterals aren’t really a false chord technique. It’s more of a low fry. I recommend listening to his isolated vocals on TH-cam. You can really get an idea of how he’s holding back air, and pushing from his diaphragm.
Thanks Jim! Really I don't have a whole lot of advice. I really just tried to emulate the vocalists of bands that I like! Im sure I didn't learn the correct way, and even now Im sure its probably not the correct way but I enjoy doing it!
God damn dude, amazingly done! I don't suppose you are open to collaborations? I've got an Opeth cover in the works which could greatly use your voice!
@@lukemellinger4942 I'd love to discuss it with you! How shall I send you a DM? Afraid you can't send private messages on youtube anymore. Got an email? Or if you'd rather not share it publicly/on your channel, would you be able to send me an email through the email linked on the "About" section on my channel (under for business inquiries), and we can discuss this? I've got a nearly finished demo I can send you, so you can decide if you'd like to be involved based on that. How does that sound?
Have you tried doing any Lamb of God vocals? I feel like your harsh vocals would be a much better fit for Randy Blythe's style; Mikael Akerfeldt has an insanely low growl while you seem to be a bit in the upper frequencies. Also, your growls are brilliantly ferocious but I think your clean singing could use a little more work :)
Thanx for the feedback Anish! To be honest Ive never really listened much to Lamb of God, a couple songs here and there but never had a good sit down and listen
@@lukemellinger4942 You're very welcome! "Walk with me in Hell" or "Laid to Rest" would be nice places to start if you want to try some Lamb of God. I look forward to whatever you upload next!
Hello, I'm looking for a singer (growl/scream) for my next project. It's going to be a 7-10 songs EP, which I have already tracked instrumentally and need only vocal tracks, death/thrash/progressive metal. If interested, please send me a message.
How long did it take you to get this good at harsh vox? I've been practicing doing Opeth vox cover's for a while and damn', some of the harsh vox part's are tough!
I’d say it took a year to feel a little confidence, but many more for more improvement! I’m still progressing with it, these things take time and there’s no need to rush. Enjoy the process and be blessed in the journey!
How can I make my false chord sound as "thick" as yours? I am still a beginner, have hurt my Vocal Chords after doing to much, but now I am more careful, drink water etc.
Hey, thanx for watching! In all honesty, I’m not really sure! I know the diaphragmatic breathing and good airflow is essential! I know it’s probably not proper but my vocals hurt when I was first learning as well! But you’ll get it, don’t give up and keep at it! 👍
I entered this ready to mock and laugh but?? I was wrong... This was very very decent... Cleans could use some work.... Better than I could even finger puppet... However? Needs some tuning
great cover but next time put the real footage (record yourself in real time while actually recording the vocals)...cuz this one looks totally out of sync haha..
In my opinion, this is the best cover of Ghost Of Perdition that I ever seen
Absolutely
Definitely!
