You can also easily add Favourites (My Places) straight into your device without using the MyDrive app on your phone. Having been using Tomtoms for the last 10 years I recently tried a Garmin. I found it much more convoluted and tricky to add Favourites and name them, and the map itself was not quite so detailed. Adjusting your route so it takes you the way you want to go rather than the way it wants to take you is also much easier and better on the Tomtom. As a coach driver this is very important to me. From my experience I would recommend Tomtom over Garmin from the perspective of quality and ease of use.

I've always bought Samsung GPS and if I enter a rout or not, it always warns me it traffic and red light cams. But now I use my old Samsung S8+ and the Tom Tom app, updates live traffic conditions and traffic cam pus my current speed and if I go off rout intentionally or accidentally, it corrects and auto adjust much faster than any other GPS device I've ever had
Your video is very helpful, your English is good, the music should be left out. Question 1: If you choose the map of Europe say France or Spain or Italy, does the TomTom 520/620 (5 for the 5" & 6 for the 6") speak directions in that language automatically or does it stay in English (as default) and one must go to settings to choose the language of your choice based on your fluency and country one will be driving to or in. So about your question, it will always talk the direction in your choosen language no mather witch country your in.
It stays in the language you chose, so if its English and you drive in Europe, the instructions are in English, its how you have set it up that decides what the instructions are spoken in.

I am glad to learn the unit does warn you about speed cameras. Would it be possible to get this video updated with spoken command for directions on any language you like as long as you can translate while the unit does execute the command. Much appreciated.
First, not sure why, but the TomTom Go can't find major destinations locations or attractions in Thailand. I can find them using the My Drive Desktop and sync the route. The problem is navigating to an unplanned destination once I leave the house. Second, I've sent traffic camera locations to TomTom and they don't appear after more than a month.

I am in the UK and have bought a TomTom Premium for use whilst on holiday in Germany and Austria and to hope use the speed cam info to stay out of trouble. I have been informed that anything capable of detecting any type of speed cam is illegal in these countries - fair enough if that is the law but, what is the reality on this / how do local people who own TomToms with integrated speed cam info go on?
Thanks and a great car 😊 And to answer you're question...the device that are illegal is a device that you can buy to only warn you of cameras not a GPS with that function built in 👍 In France however that is illegal and that's why it still warns you but about hazard and not name it as cam so even there you're safe 😊 So don't worry and have a great trip👍
surely you don't need to put in the correct destination, any will do, difference is the satnav will keep rerouting your journey every time you do something different from what it wants you, but it will still alert you to the speed cameras even if you're miles off track, so putting in any destination should work if you're not actually using it for directions
Joel G Off course it can if you want it on your phone which I don't and depending on where you go like Switzerland or some other countries where it's really expensive with data traffic to have the phone on roaming...not a good idea to use and will cost a lot more😉 With this just go and don't even think about it...so prefer that ☺️👍
Mitt skäl till att köpa TomTom var för att få varningarna om fartkameror och för att det skulle fungera var jag tvungen att lägga in rutten dit jag skulle vilket jag även gjorde på Audis navigator som är mer avancerad och ville såklart använda den. Det gjorde också att jag såg skillnaden på hur de båda skiljer sig ifrån varandra. Fördel TomTom var att den tydligare visade avfarter och vilket fält man skulle välja men det var nog allt men för mitt syfte fungerade den alldeles utmärkt med fartkamera varningar. För det första...blev väldigt ofta förvirrad och tog en stund innan den hittade rätt igen vilket inte är bra och av någon anledning visade den vid flera tillfällen mycket längre till destinationen än Audis och även Google. Vid ett tillfälle hela 169km längre trots att det var raka vägen på motorväg? Den ville flera gånger att jag skulle svänga av vilket jag självklart ignorerade och efter tredje gången så vips visade den samma som Audi och sa till mig själv att tänk om man kört efter TomTom....vilka omvägar även om det är raka vägen så riktigt konstigt! Detta hände ett flertal gånger under min resa i genom Danmark, Tyskland, Belgien och Frankrike. Kollade såklart inställningarna och inget konstigt där!? Så ytterst förvånad och skulle inte lita på denna om jag åkte efter det jag sett, speciellt inte med lastbil.
Think your issue is some part of what I'm talking about in this video. In settings you need to download traffic cams and then you need to have an active route for it to work. If you only have it on without arriving destination it will not work.
I bought it yesterday that was a failure, not as good as my old go 750 live. Troubles with WiFi downloads and speed camera not working! And overall not a good screen
Sorry to hear that and yes the screen aren't the best. Personally have no issues with Wifi downloads and working perfect everytime so maybe somethings wrong with yours? Regarding speed cameras and don't know how you tried but you always need to have an active route, it doesn't work just putting it on without.
I can only think off three reasons why. 1: In settings you don't have that choosen. 2: When you're destination is calculated you have in the right corner a head with talk bubble.. if there is a cross over it and in toned white color just press it and you will have sound. 3: Try to update the software and still have the the problem after checking 1 and 2 there is something wrong with it and need to return it :(
Then probally only you because you're the first that were more focus to the watch so guess we see what we want 🤗 And yes...I do wear a watch and helps me keep track of time👍

Why don’t you simply keep the speed limits,? There is a reason why there is a speed limit, you won’t need a gps and it’s safer for you and everyone around you
If you really want to avoid the flash, stick to the speed limit, I'm sure that you have speed limit signs in your country too. Also, it doesn't say anything good about your RS6 if the sat nav thats built in doesn't have speed cameras warning, better off getting much cheaper car with no sat nav and have the tomtom.

Surely, you just set a destination the other end of the country? Then the satnav will never need resetting, as you never reach your destination.
