“ keep it simple stupid “ (KISS) has been my motto on all my hunting gear. From rifles to pistols to bows, sights, arrows and releases. The best and a. Very simple quiet sight I’ve ever found for hunting is a CBE TL 3 pin slider. It does not rattle on any bow I mount it on. The wheel adjustment lock does not have to be engaged for even multiple shots as it’s gears etc are so well done there’s no movement nor noise at the shot. It is a dovetail mount so it can be extended out for accuracy for like Competition shooting. Has a rheostat light that is designed to conceal the light into a housing to the fiber optic line. No light shows from the front for animals to see. I rebuilt the pins for .019blue for the top pin the middle pin is .010 green and the bottom is .010 blue. Absolutely the best hunting sight I have ever used.

When using a magnifying lens the quality of the lens is super important. Some have distortion that’s not noticed until you use a good one. Same for clarifier or verifiers. Peep diameter matching the scope diameter is very very important for repeatable sighting alignment. Especially with a multiple pin scope.

I’m trying to get into indoor archery on a very limited budget, but managed to find an old copper John ant 2 sight with scope. It’s old but compared to my hunting sight it’s chalk and cheese!

th-cam.com/video/pWvMLe-jB2M/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ZC2ZXzQCK4OiQNE5 I’m new to archery but iv done alot of shooting and iv seen it over and over, my dad always told me the most important muscle in shooting is the one between your ears. When it comes down to a shoot off it’s your mind set not your kit that counts.

well I'd a Sanlida sight, ok for getting back into archery... yes its very cheap in the uk I think I paid around £150-170'ish (obviously the scope is ontop of that) I've gone with Shrewd 40mm. anyway, I've found the sight has abit of slop (removes fine adjustments over range as any range data sheets don't match the sight once you've adjusted the sight multiple times..
So I've bit the bullet & bought "as mentioned" a sight MASSIVELY overpriced, I'll mention the brand "excel" & its new to the uk market in recent weeks... any guesses???
well I've paid £550 &its the Excel achieve XP PRO, initial opinion is "YES" over priced, its a sight rail.. but its nicely made, very sturdy, doesn't seem to have slop in the adjustments (only used it a limited amount of time currently due to work & bad/heavy rain fall) anyway alot of the features are overly priced, not necessary or heavily played on.... everything included ie mounting block, sight tapes (multiple including a blank etc) however various others are available at extra costs... surely these should be freely available & maybe printable on your home computer, rather then being required to buy x2 different sight tape packs, anyway several allen keys (its archery allen keys are breeding like no tomorrow) an extended scope bar..... no extended screw to suit (thats at an extra cost item) & that's pretty much it (aw wait a nice storage plastic case, which I always keep my sigths & scopes stored within when not in use etc.... other then that yes its good, but not almost £600 worth of good, the previous model is just as good & quite abit cheaper...
personally I'm surprised sights don't come with the option of a scope & glass, all inclusive pricing etc thn maybe asking a price of £500+ but all individually priced components etc its just stupid.. for example my shrewd scope its 3-4 components
1 the body which has the sight pin
    2 glass & glass holder
    3 the sun shade/hood
4 rear peep hood/ring (ie has a white ring to aide aligning the peep sight to the scope)
total est £215 (I've x3 lenses ie £300 worth in total)
so for a sight system currently I'm in for around £850'ish, not including my peep & that's the Bohning peep-it pro (with clarifier lenses), that £180'ish.... now I've done abit of small bore shooting etc, rifle & shotgun etc also air rifle & you can get a very nice scope & mount for less then that for a rifle shooting hundreds of meters accurately.. so why is archery gear extortionately priced.... "that's a hugely annoying aspect of this sport ie archery"
