    Companion PDF Spreadsheet available here:
    wrongway.info/comparisons-1
    EDIT:
I made a very significant error in terms of Smart BMS on King-Song wheels. The only EUCs at King-Song currently which do have a smart BMS are the S16, S19 and S22 line-up.
Their smaller wheels DO NOT have a Smart BMS. I apologize for my mistake and I’ll add a pinned comment to that video as well as cut out necessary parts. For some reason I mistakingly saw options of smart BMS on the 16S app and I didn’t do my research well enough. Most probably I connected to S16 while 16S was also available my KS app and it turns out it’s too easy to misclick 🙈

It's not a criticism, but you can enrich this table, maybe find a way to make filters on the columns
Another ideas is put some kind of index of your videos on this website. A lot of work, but than you can have all yours videos separated by subject, people will watch your videos more
Just ideas man, thank you so much for your work for the EUC community, it's always an excellent contribution

Not gonna lie, the way you negotiated this mine field was pretty impressive. You kept it fact based, explained your methodology, then applied it to the EUC market without fear or favour. I hope manufacturers and EUC riders apply the standards you've laid out because both would benefit, riders with better wheels and manufacturers with better sales. 👍

Inmotion v12hs is solid, blew 1st gen motherboard, got 2nd gen motherboard in warranty - works good now. Stock waterproofing is good, the wheel is dry and no dust on the inside, 6k km. Axle is fine, no issues 90kg rider

    • @vince7245
      @vince7245 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

Sounds like a familiar story with my V12HT. I had the motherboard, controller and the batteries replaced just before the warranty ran out on mine. Luckily I was just starting out my ride and I was going very slow when I heard a warning, stopped and the wheel started smoking. I recorded it as proof and for prosperity's sake. Another rider in the group wasn't so lucky, he was already going at a fair speed, didn't hear the warning, which BTW leaves you with very little time to react, and he went flying. Five of us have V12s (one HS and the rest HTs) and 4 of us have had to replace its inner workings, but once replaced, all the wheels are fine.

All high end scooters have at least a pin lock, some keys, some nfc cards SOMETHING. This is absolutely absurd to me especially on these £4000 wheels, there must be a strong focus on security/anti-theft

its basically cause you never leave/lock the wheel anywhere outside your home anyways. its too easy, even with a way to stop ppl from starting the wheel, to just pick it up and carry it away to their car or wherever. so its not really needed. my dad is an old motorcycle rider and he once told me a "funny" story: thieves used to steal super heavy harley davidson bikes weighing hundreds of kilos by just getting 2 skateboards and lifting up the wheels on them and rolling it away. doesnt even matter if its locked then :D how easy woudlnt it be to steal a tiny little euc then ;D never leave it unseen!

Old guy here (72 years old), started with a V8F in August 2021, only 2475 km since it's just a part time hobby for me. I only ride on paved bike trails or private streets near my home. I weigh about 90 kg with gear. I'm in decent shape, doing free weights and cardio. I'm considering 18XL or Molicel P42A S18. Issues, 18XL has the smaller axle. S18 - the handle is reported to be weak, an issue if lifting S18 by the handle, but I only need to lift it to put on stand or to put on passenger door seal on my car (2 seater, so I transport in passenger foot well with top resting on towel covered seat). S18 - how time consuming and what issues are there if tire change is needed on the S18? S18- constant maintenance, lubing suspension, checking bolts, ... .

As a first time rider I just bought a V10F, which looks pretty bad based on your criteria, but most of the wheels that fit are much more expensive. I don't have a problem spending a good bit on something to get quality, but at the same time I'd like to know how I enjoy riding it first before I decide which bigger wheel to invest in. I could have gone for an even cheaper wheel like a V5 or V8, but I wanted one that would have a bit more power and be a little bit more capable since I'm a heavier rider at nearly 100kg.
This video will be on my mind when/if I decide to upgrade to a bigger and better wheel once I've gotten experience under my belt.

The S22 is easy to waterproof in regards to the batteries. I have ridden my wheel in the rain, and power washed it many times. But yeah, you gotta be careful. (when power washing, remove the suspension through bolt at the top (one that has handles), and the top 6 bolts (IIRC) then you can pull the wheel apart. But the mobo inside a plastic bag, silicone (if you haven't already) the two holes for the light wires. Stuff a sock into each of the battery wire holes and then blast down. When replacing everything, if you do a small bead of silicone around the battery wire hole it holds really well.)
It sounds like a lot, but you can dismantle the S22 to this stage and do silicon and everything and reassemble before you can get the wheel out of a Nikol+ or V12.

I was shaking my head in disappointment last night while watching a LYNX video that has the fuse mounted inline with the battery (which is good) but no xt90 connection between the fuse and the battery (which is very bad). The battery lead should have a connector BEFORE the fuse so that while working on (or replacing) the fuse, the mechanic is not vulnerable to shock because the fuse holder is at full voltage potential even though the battery is disconnected!
The shielded side of the connector should be on the ‘hot’ side of the junction, then the ‘male’ side should be on the load side, then the fuse holder. Especially since the fuse holder is “designed” to open using a flathead screwdriver!
If you’ve never seen a 12v car battery short its leads, go look now! Then imagine an 80volt short to ground through your body.😢 Some of the minor details in these flawed design/assembly processes can mind blowing.
Also, there are “safer” protocols for handling and managing used wheels but no one gets clicks for spreading this info, which is understandable.
BMS features are also very minimal. The minimum requirement I have BEFORE I will ever buy a ‘new’ wheel is that I want a programmable alarm on each cell, in each pack, that notifies my if the temperature profile of that individual cell has changed more than 2-5% over the life of the packs. This will allow me to change out the programmatic cells preemptively, which reduces harm/degradation to the entire pack.
I LOVE this content! Used wheels are awesome, I’ve got 6! But I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone unless they fully understand the preventative measures that need to be strictly adhered to.
If anyone has suggestions on charging and maintaining vulnerable models, please add below.
    Recommendations for used wheels:
    1) For older models without BMS balancing, NEVER charge to 100% SOC (state of charge). If damage has occurred, a full charge will just accelerate the cumulative damage. Just get the PIDzoom ‘Charger Enhancer’ and limit the peak voltage to the level at which the battery has no internal voltage losses over a 1-week period. {this needs more expansion but it’s just an example}.
    There’s dozens more ideas… anyone?

I'm still amazed by v11's water resistance, now at 8800km. It's been through two winters already, not to mention rains. At 7500 i had changing the tire process (for winter one), and it turned out that the bearing grease was still in pristine out-the-box condition. It took riding through the sudden knee-deep pool of water to spoil that grease.
But i have no idea if these qualities transferred to v11y.

Because of things mentioned by Adam (waterpfoofing especially) - no authority does take EUC's seriously, like a vehicle which should be considered among public transport. We (riders/ customers) have to demand this from manufaturers. Then we will aproach much faster the day when any country will put EUC out of the law grey zone into just common transport vehicles.

Given the hair. I just realized why the channel is called wrong way :D
I have an inmotion v8, no cell balancing. After 7k+ km, two pairs of cells were out of balance, reducing range a lot. After manually balancing them several times, I changed them, using a cheap spot welder, using salvaged cells from scooters I found online that I capacity tested with a lithium charger. That was a few weeks ago and so far it's holding up. That wheel would be truly amazing if it had a smart BMS. I've learnt a lot along the way. I'm also on my second charger, the first one eventually just died. Also on my second tube. First tyre. Probably c.10k km now?

I have used an cheap Airwheel EUC that I bought new in China for only 100$ 10 years ago. The 16S1P batterypack died after a few years, then I built a new batterypack with some premium Samsung cells, and it has worked fine since then. But this year I wanted to buy a more useful wheel that I can use for going around town. I found a used Gotway Tesla 1 with the 20S4P 1020Wh battery (Panasonic 18650GA cells) I got it for 400$. It works just fine. Seems to charge to full, no problem and have good range. But it does not have an SmartBMS, so I do not really know how the battery health is. If I discover problems with the battery in the future, I will probably build a new battery with Molicel P30B cells and install with an SmartBMS like the other packs I built for EVs.

I remember wanting to upgrade to a V11 from a 14D. Saw the tire change videos and backtracked immediately. The hardest thing on the 14d is just removing the pads! The v11 looks like you need a degree in engineering to de/reassemble. Same with the v12. Even once you know what you’re doing it’s still a nightmare to run maintenance on the fly.

When it comes to water proofing, i think the biggest thing is just keep a wet wheel upright. The only water issues i heard for the v12 were people who rode through rain and than put it down on the kickstand. Once it was tipped back water managed to get somewhere bad.

@@EVILyangkuang it still had 90% battery charge on it. Rode it the night before with no issues. Thinking it was either the combination of the tie down I used to keep it upright behind the passenger seat, the movement of the truck or it could have been the wiring coming from the hub that shorted out.
All I remember was my cellphone connected to it and the speakers were on, I heard an electrical pop and hiss and could smell one of the batteries burning with a touch of grey smoke.
Took the unit outside, turned it on and the battery level was down to 40%. Turned it off and then thermal runaway occurred and the whole unit caught on fire. Luckily it was outside when it happened.

I have been saying this for years, that having a Smart BMS is the way to go. I have installed SmartBMS in all batteries I have built during the years. Because how can you otherwise tell that maybe something starting to go wrong? A couple of years ago Samsung had a problem with their 18650 30Q cells that was widely used for DIY batterybuilds on ebikes, electric longboards and so on. But then people started to discover that some cells just started to drain, and offcourse it drained all the cells that was connected in parallel with it... Not fun att all :( That is not the same problem that this LG M50T has, but still, a problem-battery that should be avoided.
