The other day, I went to my son's soccer game, and when the referee came, he had a cap on with the masonic symbol. Coincidentally, that same day, I also wore a cap that says "Jesus" on it. When he came to talk to the coaches before the game began, he was staring at me very intently, and I, in turn, stared just as intently at him: no way was I going to back down. Here in Catholic Ireland it is easy to see that the process of de-Christianization has been very successful. Brother, I love your videos-they have deepened my love for Christ and His transcendent teachings. However, I recently encountered concerns about Global Orthodoxy, particularly how major patriarchs of our faith are engaging in various unions with Catholics, Protestants, communist governments, and other ecumenical activities. This issue is not widely discussed online, which is troubling. For instance, the Patriarch of Greece lifted the anathema from the Pope and his followers, while Patriarch Kirill engages with Miaphysites, Muslims, the Pope, and the World Council of Churches. Should we not distance ourselves from such patriarchs and their priests? Should we not follow the faithful bishops who condemn these actions?
These are very serious concerns and I share them. We should distance ourselves from such bishops and clergy but cutting communion and joining a parallel jurisdiction is a different matters. We should do what we can to preserve ourselves from heresy, bring our concerns to our priests and bishops, and help those around us who are being tempted with ecumenism and other heresies. I was just reading the cannons: 15 of first and second council and 45 of apostolic cannons and it’s pretty confusing because it seems like it does tell us to break communion. I hate how almost nobody brings this issue up, rather we debate Catholics and other denominations instead of focusing on our current issues and guiding the sheep the right way. As someone inquiring can someone please help me understand why Orthodox use the all seeing eye as one of their symbols they use? I learned this on a couple different orthodox websites when trying to find a local parish.
The "eye of providence" was a symbol of God's omnipotence long before it started being used in the occult. Same for satanists taking St Peter's cross (an upside down cross) and trying to claim it's satanic. However, I recently encountered concerns about Global Orthodoxy, particularly how major patriarchs of our faith are engaging in various unions with Catholics, Protestants, communist governments, and other ecumenical activities. This issue is not widely discussed online, which is troubling. For instance, the Patriarch of Greece lifted the anathema from the Pope and his followers, while Patriarch Kirill engages with Miaphysites, Muslims, the Pope, and the World Council of Churches. Should we not distance ourselves from such patriarchs and their priests? Should we not follow the faithful bishops who condemn these actions?
These are very serious concerns and I share them. We should distance ourselves from such bishops and clergy but cutting communion and joining a parallel jurisdiction is a different matters. We should do what we can to preserve ourselves from heresy, bring our concerns to our priests and bishops, and help those around us who are being tempted with ecumenism and other heresies.
I suggest read the life of St. Meletios of Antioch, who was even ordained by Arians after the 1st EC, the playlist from Orthodox Ethos called "On the Temptation on the Right", and of course the writings of the saints like Fr. As someone inquiring can someone please help me understand why Orthodox use the all seeing eye as one of their symbols they use? I learned this on a couple different orthodox websites when trying to find a local parish.
The "eye of providence" was a symbol of God's omnipotence long before it started being used in the occult. Same for satanists taking St Peter's cross (an upside down cross) and trying to claim it's satanic. Taking symbols of The Most High and perverting them to create confusion is the whole point behind why they do it.
