Good evening friends. I was born & brought up, in Dadar, then Bombay in the year 1946. I often remember my childhood days, I had spent, then in Bombay. I will never forget, those wonderful days, of my childhood. N.V.Hattiholi, Belgaum, Karnataka.
Extreme poverty my father used to we used to sweat like hell during summers at night as there no fans those days. No jobs no schools. No medical infrastructure no roads but yes mental peace.
Underworld activities by Dawood Ibrahim and groups,Kashmiri Pandit genocides,turmolic state of Punjab when Indira Gandhi sought power,economic crisis after 1991 Gulf war,Indo-China war Those days were much violent than today's bro. Safety, security has massively increased today than yesteryears, technology has kept us all updated.
I was five years in the year 1958. I still remember the wonderful carefree life. I can picture the tongas, we used to go to school in them. They were called Victorias if im right in the city. The barbers would come with their litle tin boxes and sit in the compound. I do remember the steel trunks. The knife sharpening guys are still around. There used to be these monkey shows. Guys cycling for four to five days at a stretch. Those wete the golden days. Will never get it back. But things have changed but its still fine if we want to make it fine and look at the brighter side of life. Wr lived in Kurla at that time.

When u live in the fear of someone just the another second stabbing you or shooting u to death then your life is actually miserable and more struggling either. I admit, those days, there was not as much pollution as there is in today's times but, alot of things are vice versa too. My only point is, say thanks to what god has bestowed upon you and strive for what you don't have and believe in the process, that's it!! Have a good day :)

I was in Bombay in 1949 while immigrating to Pakistan. Bombay was great and remains great till this day. Next I called in Bombay as merchant Mariner in 1964. Bombay remained great and beautiful.and will always remain great and beautiful.

Recalling past memories
Actually this Bombay looks much more developed and neat than compared to today's Mumbai!
Because we still had a proper local government. Maharashtra state didn't exist. Bombay was the city with its own multilingual state, which never dared to interfere in the city's governance beyond a limit.
In that time people looks very innocent.. 😍😍
@Ranjit Tyagi Not all,
@Ranjit Tyagi what happened ? 🤔
@Ranjit Tyagi Oh my God ! Really very sad. How did they expire ? Were they ill ? I have got no words to express my feelings. God keep you blessed. I am with you bacha. Are you on fb ? If yes , share your ID. 🙏🙏🙏

@@SAVE_CONSTITUTION_DEMOCRACYGujrati CM morarji desai want's to keep Mumbai in Gujrat. But mumbai's local peoples which are Marathi peoples don't want to be part of Gujrat so they made a protest in which desai shooted 107 Marathi peoples. actually Mumbai is deeply rooted by Marathi culture
I am fortunate to have experienced, as a child, the Tram and double decker bus travels, the Horse cart( called Victoria गाड़ी in those days), and to have lived in Fort, Bombay (we called it Mumbai then, too) and in various suburbs of Mumbai. Nostalgic memories of the old South Mumbai !
We can see a fullfillness in the face of people which we cant see today .
