Christian Chadwick I say he is intelligent because of the way his songs are written and the stance he has on many taboo issues. I just consider him smart.. Also, I think he got into Harvard? Doesn't that show his intelligence?
***** Yeah, I'm sorry, I was just being an ass... It's the internet after all. You're right, I think he got accepted to Harvard and Brown but chose NYU. A bright individual indeed, but don't sell yourself short.
Christian Chadwick apology accepted, you do raise a good point. I think he carries himself well which makes him seem intelligent even before you hear his comedy or really listen to the way he speaks.
He's so well spoken and introspective. It's clear that he thinks a lot about what he thinks... Great to see someone so talented creating such smart comedy.
I have, but not sure what he means by how being emotional and honest is the new edgy. Anyone have any examples? Wait no nvm guys I think I get what he means.
If had to be friends with only one person in the world. It would be Bo. I would ditch all my loved ones and friends to just spend time with this beautiful and unique and damaged creature that is Bo Burnham. If art is dead then Bo is a zombie.
AffableVideos No I just generally like and respect him. He is one of the coolest people alive today in my opinion. I don't see why you have to tear down the fact that I like someone (or the idea of someone, since I don't actually know him) who is intelligent and talented.
This isn't completely relevant, but how are the people in the background not staring at Bo in awe and interest? I wouldn't be able to help but stop everything that I'm doing and just listen
Bo’s such a chill dude. Like if someone were to walk into that office its not like: “THATS COMEDIAN/SINGER BO BURNHAM”, its more of “Look it’s Bo”. Like he acts so pleasingly natural
2:25 ...That. That is what he brings to his comedy that everyone else is afraid to do. It's easy to be edgy or on the fringe but no one has been able to point fingers at everyone watching yet still make all of them laugh and want more. Bo is a genius. He somehow makes the uncomfort we feel about society and ourselves just.... well, just slightly less uncomfortable.
He's 6'6?! No way. I mean yeah he certainly looks tall, but I would've guessed 6'2 at the very most. I'd have to see a side by side comparison between him and somebody else.
I actually met him when he performed at my university. I'm 6'4.25 barefoot and he had a solid inch on me. If he's not 6'6 he's very close. I'd say minimum 6'5.5. And the fact that he's so skinny makes him appear even taller.
I like his comments about the "PC" crowd, very interesting look on the subject. It probably explains why Brian Regan will be one of my all time favorite comedians. He has a "clean" routine for a lack of a better word, and is still hilarious to me. I find that extremely impressive. Of course I still love the less "PC" comedians!
+jones2tl I think, in the time since this interview, the PC crowd is something that's very real and has become the mainstream. The problem is that they're not the one's creating anything, but instead, the ones who are judging others and "critiquing" them. The issue is that if these people have their way, comedy will be sanitized of anything controversial. The context of comedy is a powerful tool that let's us discuss uncomfortable topics in a different light. I too, feel like we can have someone like Brian Regan (who's hilarious btw), but we can also have someone like a Louis C.K., to balance everything out.
+Kayla Leal PC is political correctness. So, it's just people who don't like "bad" language or "insensitive" words. Like they said above, Brian Regan does a cleaner act, while people like Bo, Louis C.K., and George Carlin do less politically correct acts.
+Jam35Var1ety I wouldn't say it's even all people who don't like cursing, I think the root of PC is actually pretty well-meaning, it's just that when people use it as a method of censoring/shitting on others that it becomes problematic. I think the root idea of being PC is really just to think about what you say before you say it, and be more empathetic to others. Sensitivity and empathy tend to go hand in hand, although they aren't mutually exclusive, which I think is the part that the hyper-sensitive crowd who use PC to harass/demean others doesn't understand.
yeah, that's true. i think it definitely had a good premise to start with. unfortunately, overtime, people have used it to control people's speech and thought, which is where my issue with it comes in.
