Really hoping to see more of this 2021 and beyond. Crowd seems to be having a blast as well. Challenge for inline seems to be getting the crowds in - cos once they're there they're loving it!

    I’m no expert but I still love to watch a good skate. I used to follow my best friend to events in the 90’s and it was great fun to watch him compete. I just wish I could still smash a course like this. Unfortunately my 39 years and multiple surgeries might have something to say about that...! Peace chaps.

      What

  • @Tattootin
    @Tattootin 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Alright, so I’ve really tried to give blading a place. But it comes down to if any athlete that is at this comp, but had never bladed before and got an hour to make a run up guaranteed they’d place. This equation can’t work if a blader tried to place in a skate or biking or even a scoot comp. so it’s one of those things that it’s like surfing... it’s fuckin awesome to do. But shit to watch and get hyped about. Now this is also happening with biking and skating. And I’ll break it down. Once everything is achieved in flat ground with skating which it’s almost there, and take in account that very has basically been dead since the 900 started dying a couple years before that. And now park and street are coming to a head. Then biking has hit a major vault with the surge around 2007. Now it hit the meh factor. That quickly. So yeah that’s my theory. Not well thought out but when all is mastered we tend to move on. Almost a global consciousness vibe with these sports, but not at all?

    • @Habeev07
      @Habeev07 5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      No... let me break it down. It all comes down to people having so many options in the current age. Like, who wants to get good at something that you can get hurt at so easily? Why not stay inside and Netflix or play games? right? "It is 2020 after all" people will say and not pick up a hobby like blading, skateboarding, or even biking. With Blading it reached a point where the progression of the bladings limits and physical boundaries were tested by the greatest skaters ( Haffey, Stockwell, Bolino, Kanashima, Wellsmore, Aragon, Shima, Livingston, Broskow, to ever skate - all in their relative prime at the Bitter Cold Showdown 2010 - where level to compete was so dangerous, It was apparent nothing like this could be on actual TV again because the chance of falling would make it not slow and not fun to watch, runs wouldn't flow. The Jam format is fine for fanatics like me but not casual fans. Fise does a good job though. This could be watched BUT even bikes and skateboards are losing viewership and participation. Blading was the sacrificial lamb to corporate greed. People like me late 20's and older, who remembers VG20, Daily Bread magazines, the Disney movie Brink, Aragon, Haffey, and Shima - know: "it's not who we are... it's what we do..." BRINK - Soul skaters! Big Daddy Kane - Ain't no half steppin'. As-salaam-alaikum.

    • @jackasshomey
      @jackasshomey 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      blading achieved a 1620 already what more do you want a 1800 or a 1980 spin?

    • @NFPalladium
      @NFPalladium 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Interesting point. Action sports make me think of gymnastics in some ways, the moment you reach the mathematical limits of gravity then everything relies on execution and the quest for progress stops to give way for the pursuit of perfection. Maybe these sports will die out to new fads or maybe their respective scenes will "level out" and continue to strive with smaller communities.

    • @gdust6579
      @gdust6579 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      idk what the OP said at all, but cant we just watch this sport for the creativity of the tricks and the techniques that inspire us to learn skating? Also most people who skate will never get nearly as good as the pros... You are risking breaking bones every time u jump on a handrail.. It is something only few people in the world will ever be fantastic at, wether its blading skateboarding bmx or olympic sports theres always few people who are pros and then like with the olympics we watch it cause it brings people together, so it should be with extreme sports as well

    • @Kevhoe
      @Kevhoe 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You’ve obviously never aggressive in-line skated before. Everyone assumes it’s so easy until they’re strapped in.
