Hi Dara & Ian. Love your video, I've always been afraid of heights until I became an apprentice with BT, the Telecom company. After 8 weeks my foreman, I was with a 4-man gang, decided I should climb a 30 ft pole, with safety belt of course. His words of advice were, “Falling won't kill you. Hitting the ground will spoil your day!”. Climbing poles also is a cure for fear of spiders. Before you get to the top and fasten your leather safety belt the spiders crawl out of cracks in the wood and crawl over your hands and arms! You can't do anything about it or you'll be flying. After this happens a few times you realize that UK spiders don't bite.
So glad you enjoyed the video! I'm proud of you for being a BT apprentice and overcoming YOUR fear of heights. That would NOT be the job for me! And... the spiders? NO WAY, NO WAY, NO WAY! I hate spiders, and I'd be screaming at the top of that phone pole!
