    Great job Marty! I play Let It Go by bending the double-stop on the 4th fret a semi-tone. If you listen to the recording, that is what is happening. Your method makes it more clear for beginners, as the double-stop bend may be tough for newer players. Instead of going to a full G chord, you can play open D and G strings in between...much easier that way too. In the context of a full band, it likely isn't as noticeable but wanted to share my two cents.

      Most definitely man! That way is certainly performance correct. I guess I have morphed into this way over the years lol! 😂😂😂

      I was going to suggest this as well but you beat me to it. High n’ Dry, the best Def Leppard album. Just pure, raw rock n’ roll.

      Glad you pointed this out man as it took ages to get the technique/ strength in my fingers to bend properly and then finding out I'm playing it wrong.

      Yea gonna say bend 1/4 step on the 4th and 2 guitar players on this song playing identical parts so maybe 1 guy bends and 1 guy slides like he does? Let it go 🤟🏻

    Thanks for the refresher. I used to play these riffs for my young bride, 30 years ago. 😉 I bought On Through The Night when it first came out. I'm that old. The first records were great. I did like the Pete and Steve era, though. So in 1996 my wife and I saw Queensryche and Def Leppard. I didn't want to go because I didn't think Def Leppard would play the old tunes. Wrong! They opened with all of their A-tuning songs. Hit and Run. Let it Go. I was blown away. I think they played three or four songs back to back before welcoming the crowd.

    Oh man! These are some of the best DL tunes! Such raw energy in those days. What I love about their catalog is how they’re songs and musicianship progressed over the years. I dig it all. Let it go is such an aggressive tune, musically and vocally. Thanks for this video Marty. I’m all set for my weekend jams now!

    Killer, Marty!! Just killer stuff. The foundation of Def Leppard. Steve Clark laid it down, and this was it. The rest is history, as they say. Such great stuff they had back in the day, and that led us to Pyro and Hysteria. The riffage was so bad as back then. What a band!! I'm so glad they are still around. Good stuff, Brother!

  • @streamofconsciousness5826
    @streamofconsciousness5826 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Those first Leppard albums were great. You Nailed the tone. That sounds just like the Album.
    Some Scorpions, that four album sweet spot from Animal Magnetism to Love at First Sting.
    Always nice to see something drawn by hand after months and months of perfect straight lines and circles. Good stuff.

    I like when you say ……. “this is what it sounds like to me “ just due to the fact that each of us guitarists have their own interpretation of how something may sound! Some of us may hear some more intricate sounding progressions or some may just take the simplest part of each progression or phrasing but all in all it’s pretty well bang on when you bring it to us! Another great job brother!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

    Hey great tutorial. I love the "Classic Era" of Def Leppard as you call it. I am by no means a musician but have been playing since 87. I call myself a "guitar owner." But when I love a song I get tabs and try to learn it. Steve Clark is my favorite guitar player. I've been trying for years to learn the solos from On Through the Night, High N Dry, Pyromania, and even some Hysteria songs but mostly stick to the riffs. I just don't have the patience. I've said I'll actually study guitar when I retire. I especially like the way you break down Bringing on the Haertbrake.

      @@Ranch5150SkinWalker I was looking up some videos for Let It Go and if you watch them they're bending the A string at the third vs doing the slide from the 5th fret to the 4th fret.
