Swiatek saved you from disaster Cam. 😀 I picked Iga and Alcaraz to win. 🏆 Also I was hoping Rafa would beat Zverev in 4 as my hot take , but it did not happen.
I love these predictions and results videos. It goes to show that you just never know. Don’t get down on yourself, with predictions, this is fun to do 🎉
You should make new categories like: - Most amount of winners and unforced errors made - Most amount of DF made - Most amount of break points saved/converted overall - Most distance (M) ran - Prediction for the amount of sets played in total for the men’s and women’s grand slam final - Doubles winners for men’s and women’s side
You did better than me Cam! Always enjoy your comments and humility I had zverev winning based on form and his win over Alcaraz 2 years ago at RG but also because I wasn’t convinced Alcaraz and Sinner were 100% healthy with their respective forearm and hip concerns. Both played brilliant I also thought Novak would crash out early based on his form and mental state. My bracket included these 3 falling in the first week! What I underestimated in Alcaraz was just how good he is under pressure. NOTHING fazes this guy whether it be the stage, the moment or the player he’s facing across the net. When the heat is on, he’s got that rare ability to go to the next level and never was that more evident than the 4th game of that 5th set. Yes, he benefited from a generous overrule on that apparent double fault but his shotmaking and fortitude was astonishing. I think the one shot in that game that showed Zverev he had no chance was that RIDICULOUS inside out forehand to Zverevs ad side on the line. I mean, what? Who would try that shot in that moment? Later in that game he also hit an incredible backhand down the line for a winner. Again, very difficult shot to execute since it goes over the highest part of the net. These are the moments that send a message to your opponent. These are the moments that break your opponent. So now we are looking at an unprecedented seismic event in the annals of men’s tennis. Carlos Alcaraz has now won 3 Grand slams on 3 different surfaces at the age of 21. He is the youngest male in history to accomplish that. How does that compare to the Big Three? Novak was 29 before he got his first FO title for his 3rd surface Federer was 27 Rafa had 3 GSs by age 21 - all at RG and bagged Wimbledon and Australia by age 22. By then, he had 5 career GS titles What’s also impressive is Alcaraz now holds 2 GS trophies. How rare is that besides the Big 3? Only Andy Murray can claim that accomplishment in the last quarter century as he held the Wimbledon and USO trophies in 2013 To say we are witnessing a legend in the making is an epic understatement. At 21, he has 3 GS titles on his resume and he’s 5 years away from his prime!
honestly he wasn't a firm favorite because of his arm but he played his way into the tournament and he solidified his position after the Tsitsipas match. even then the sinner match was not a sure fire outcome, but he was clutch
@@z1az285Exactly, my thoughts... I never thought Carlos wud have made it beyond the quarters given how he struggled against de Jong in the second rd. He was still struggling against sinner, but yes, he was clutch in the key moments inspite of the barrage of unforced errors and double faults.
@@premanandramesh8969 True and yet this was not just one clutch performance after another. This was a true coming of age moment and demonstrating he is a great champion who was able to win when not at his best. Of course, i would personally prefer he is physically 💯 in every slam he plays, but this showed many great things about him. Hope he rests and recovers adequately
Would be really cool to see you fill in the entire tournament bracket (so you predict the winner of every match) might require two videos, one for the mens, one for the womens. but would be cool to see your bracket! not sure if there is a site you can do this on or you'd have to make your own bracket in excel or something
Maybe hometown favorite could be a new category. Then for Wimbledon, for example, the question would be which player from the UK ist the favorite or has the best chances for a run.
Thank you for the video Cam! You probably weren't that excited because of your picks, but put in a lot of work!👏 You couldn't possibly predict Djokovic getting hurt, so that alone messed up a few categories:) Picking 50% in both semis was a great prediction!
Yeah, picking against Alcaraz is not good form generally, but who knew Djoker would get hurt. Sakkari plays dozens of matches each season, and wins enough rounds to stay around the top 10-15. But she doesn't have the game to be truly relevant at the majors. She's at best a 1000s player.
@@0nFoot I do not think she is average. She just catching up as her progress was stopped by injuries. She was treated as more of a talent than Iga back in the day. I know, Potapova was even a bigger one and look at her now. I am aware that talented youth usually does not mean good pro career. Anyhow, I am keeping my fingers crossed for her, as she would be a good addition to the top of the WTA.
Dont worry Cam. My predictions were awful. I picked Sonic the Squirrel to win the pineapple pizza eating contest. I picked Frogtrain to eat all the chess pieces at the Himalayen Open. 😅
Hey Cam, what website do you use to see the draws. I never like the apps (for example: the Rolland Garros app was horrible to see all of the draws). I want to see them like March Madness does with US College Basketball. I also think it would be fun to have a member challenge where we fill out brackets for Wimbledon and see who does the best. Also, ESPN isn't horrible for this, but also not really awesome. I figure you have some site that you go to and see everything laid out well, with player bios, previous slam records, etc.
I think this format is repetitve because the picks don't feel like predictions, more like guesses: some categories are dumb or not clear (aces, 2 random top players comparison, dark horse/unseeded, hot take) and generally you bring few arguments on supporting your choices. I would also say video is incomplete. I think you can try to do something similar to Gill Gross' analysis or Andy Roddick's picks video: your style and knowledge would fit better with a draw reveal (that you already follow) and a full draw predictions video, maybe live, before the tournament. After the finals you can easily comment on your best/worst picks and see your score (point system already built before start)
this was a very unpredictable FO on the mens side. zverev was the favorite but not by much because of fitness and form.alcaraz proved he can win when not at his best
You always have to count on Alcaraz, even if he is not physically at 100% and has practically missed the entire clay court season due to the forearm injury. He has plenty of resources to defeat anyone.
Kasatkina is your favorite? Great person and a fine player, but not top tier level. I don't see her ever really get to that level, either. 27 and still only one major SF and one 1000 final.

Sakkari is always a great pick for the Top 10 upsets from what we have seen lol
And Rublev!
Also the best seeded upset is FAA hands down
Add a most double fault count. You could make a challenge to members so they can predict too
Lol!! That wud be Carlos himself. He would even top the unforced errors list. That said, he wud even top the winners list.

Agree. It is fun to compare our predictions to an expert (Cam) and that is what makes sports exciting - we always get surprised.

I tipped Iga and Zverev to win. Didnt think Carlos was ready and healthy enough. And he looked bad in round one.
How about over/under on Rybakina unforced errors? She had nearly 50 against Paolini.
My predictions:
1. Swiatek -> 1/1
2. M: Monteiro W: Sramkova -> 0/2
3. USA -> 0.5/1
4. M: Zverev W: Rybakina -> 2/2
5. Alcaraz -> 1/1
6. M: Struff W: Osorio -> 0/2
7. M: Dimitrov W: Jabeur -> 0/2
8. M: Cerundolo W: Paolini -> 1.5/2
9. Zverev -> 1/1
10. Novak will go out early. 4T maybe 3T. -> 0/1 I was expecting him to go out early and also I'm pretty sure that without the injury he would go forward.
11. M: Ruud - Zverev and Alcaraz - Sinner W: Swiatek - Gauff and Rybakina - Sabalenka -> 6/8
12. M: Alcaraz W: Swiatek -> 2/2
RESULT: 15/ 25
Love the buzzer and the way Cam times it to pretty much cut himself off.
Do a top 10 prediction, which player will get to which round
It seems that Badosa loses to Sabelenka every week.
