    Best Stirling engine I have ever seen. It seems very practical and reliable energy source for homes in remote places. I am interested in developing such power plants for remote African villages.

      Kiran Jamdade if your goal was to make electricity you should use a thing called a thermoelectric generater wich works on diferece in temperature like a stirling engine but directly turns it to electricity

      Most Seebecks however generally don't produce loads of current and also need cooling on the other side to stay efficient; The fan driven can help with the latter however.
      I'm affraid that since typical TEG efficiency is claimed to be below 10%, I'd guess this approach is a more efficient one then using TEG's.
      There's also other practical limits to using TEG's such as a high output resistance, which usually is subverted by using multiple modules in parallel and additional circuitry to keep that in check (raising costs and making it harder to make one). Thus-far it mainly shines in situations where a very low amount of power (quite often referred to as Sub-Watt) is necessary, for that can be generated with a single module, or two, with ease, preventing the need of additional circuitry.
      I've tested with mirrors heating a black-coated metal plate and in the shadows below a heatsink, but couldn't get more then about 0.3w of power per-module using this method. Also, while the plate wasn't fully heated output was severely lower...

      You should go for steam. A bit more dangerous but way more power and a better output for the same costs

  • @lhcheng9155

    the stove can be improved greatly. insulate the combustion chamber (better to insulate the chimney also); add an after-burner. put the hot-head of engine not in combustion chamber(that would reduce the temperature and efficiency of combustion), put it in the chimney instead.
    you will get a much higher temperature and efficiency.

    • @Sub5_77
      @Sub5_77 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      6 years but maybe someone have the same question today.
      Car engine we all know is based on pistons as well, but instead of the wood, fuel is used to heat them, and spin the wedge belt. Basically, it's the same idea.

    Great machine ! ! Impressive! Thank you so much for sharing.
    That would be practical for electricity if it has some auto fuel feeder, like a pellet stove or something like that.
    Are these type engines more efficient than a steam engine?
