Love the follow cam on Paul. It’s easy to assume you shred because of your bmx background, he’s a bit stealthy. He seems to focus more on progression. Doesn’t always show off his existing talent. This confirms that he's better than he lets on and he’s just kind of modest about it (I knew it!)… You both seem like solid, humble dudes. This was fun to watch. I hope you partner up on more vids.
Such a rad ride. Gimbal footage FTW. Nice not having the shots go super pixelated in the dark woods. Love a good follow cam and the chance to watch Paul ride his local trails.
Excellent video. VanCan, it would be great to incorporate the 3rd person shots that Paul was taking of you on some of the jumps and drops. Thanks for posting.
Love your videos man. I'm working my way towards a promotion that would move me from Atlanta, GA to Vancouver. I'll definitely be using your videos as a reference for trails.
Can you tell my which trail is it from min. 3:00 and that jumpy and flowy after that ? And that one at minute 5:30 where you ask how the trail is called (before still hot tuner) I will visit Squamish next Summer again and would love to ride this trails..
Amazing trails! I’d love to get there sometime. What settings are you using on your GoPro? Seems to be holding up well in the high contrast areas. Thanks, safe riding.
Sweet trails on a sweet bike :) I just ordered exact same one. What mods apart from Cushcore have you done? Anything? Visited Squamish for 1.5d this past summer and could have spent weeks there...
ya doesnt make sense because literally every single pro rider (with some exceptions) are now on 29ers. Annoying I keep seeing youtubers act weird with 29ers
Crossing jumping trails? Noticed you stopped before jumping INTO another rider jumping across the trail at 9:28 (look to the left). Who designed that trail tragedy? Fun to watch you and Paul ride together.
That would be me, the builder. It's a ride-around smaller jump that uses the same landing. Not exactly dangerous since the trail only diverges 50m up from that point and there's good sight lines.
@@RyDeR883850392235 Glad to hear. Love your work. Thanks for spending the time and effort to build these amazing trails. Just noticed that hazard and was shocked.
29er seems to be a very fast bike which is all well and good but does that wheel size lose actual trial detail? I ask because i remember back in the 80s we would have a lot of fun with slow detail riding, maybe something that has become overlooked these days as the 29er takes gliding to the riders.
Hey Nic, change your max iso on your GoPro to 400. It will help keep an eye on the trail ahead whilst there are rays of sun shooting through the trees. Your welcome!
Ah yes. That I agree with and that’s part of the reason I still like 26” wheels. The other is well I keep rubbing my ass on anything larger then 26”... and that ain’t fun. But that’s still just a difficulty thing not an impossibility...
If it means anything I managed to go for a ride with jay hoots a while back (he was working on a trail design in my area) and his comment was larger wheel size needs more speed to make it feel as playful as the smaller sizes.
@@VanCan From a viewer's perspective, it looks like your front wheel is wallowing around a lot more than 27.5. It's evident that you're not used to the geometic changes from that wheel size yet. To be honest, I'm not a fan of the videos since you switched to 29. It looks like some of the challenge, skill, and fun are gone.

He knows the best trails
Hey Paul, where's that B-roll footage of his drops & jumps?
Waiting to see the other video with B roll from Pauls angle
His cornering skills seemed to have improved, looking good out there!
More than a local legend, world class MTB TH-camr!

Great video, just loved watching you ride through that beautiful terrain, I don't think there's many places more beautiful than that.
i thought this channel was VanCan, not VanCan’t.
Great video !! Impressing on the big jump .Cant wait for summer comming to Squamish for 2 weeks

hope theres more videos like this! want to just watch these for ages on the trainer :)
Awesome riding guys! can't wait to get my new 29er!
flow for miles , just the ticket for wet winter viewing , love Squamish
Absolutely gorgeous day, amazing trails and The Punter is on form!
Love your videos man. I'm working my way towards a promotion that would move me from Atlanta, GA to Vancouver. I'll definitely be using your videos as a reference for trails.
Nice!
Didn't think the Punter had some jumping skills. Very impressed💪👍🤟
Would have loved to have seen some footage from Paul of you going off those jumps, since he was just standing there :)
These trails are literally mind blowing, keep it up 🤘🏽
Yeah they are really good I wished I had this type of content for my channel. This trail rips.
Yay, I love to see that my favorite TH-camr posts a new video🤘
Best video so far make more of them cause that’s like the 5th time I’m watching this one
Great video, cool trails!
Wow, Paul The Punter has become Paul The Punisher!
I'm so jealous! All of our trails are gone this time of year. Covered pedal deep in dead leaves.
Stunning trails
And the riders even more ...
Nice bike I’m hoping to order the 2020 Capra in the next week or so can’t wait
I have a photo of my rental bike leaning against the tree at 7:09! We went to Mad Hatter though.
"The BIG BROWN WOODEN TUNA THANG... You just gotta get you to the top"!!! Bahaha!!
Sick trail, sick riding!
Great ride and video! When was this? Has been pouring rain in Van City for weeks. A few good days here and there.....

Where is your GoPro mounted? Is it mounted lower front of a full face?
Really nice camera setup 👌🏻👍🏻
the footage is so table. gopro on a gimble? what video settings did you use?
All I could hear was Paul's cassette hehe
Love ur vids but u Carnt get shown up on jumps and drops by Paul 😂
what a beauty of a trail! :D Thx 🤙
Squampton! Nice video!
I can't believe how good you are at jumping. Darn BMXers haha.
Which trail is the second one (just after rupert)?
Looks like slippery salmon
What is the name of the flow/jump trail you rode right after Rupert/ before Hot tuna?
i'm not sure!

Can I install 54t ratchet without changing the hub? I have a Canyon Spectral AL 6.0 2019 with a dt 1900 set of wheels and I think a dt 350 hub.
@Ganiscol thanks, what are my options? Buying 350 hub and a ratchet separately?
Nice video, when was it filmed?

Nobl wheels with hydra hubs is the big change. Then I put on one up bars and stem.
@@VanCan I bet it is! I'll probably just upgrade the internals of the hub to ratchet and joystick stem and carbon bars and see how it rides :)
What was the name of that jump trail, after Rupert????
Not sure
Slippery Salmon
The Trail Snail thanks!!!
I rode Rupert on a 24 inch cx bike when I was 8

You can ride any of these trails on any bikes

What do you use for a gopro setup?
hero 7 in the karma grip

6ft S4
What was that first trail called
Rupert

Good question, I asked the same.

Insecure 27.5 riders realizing how much more popular 29ers are
It's just for the views
It's to provoke I think 🤔 and it works! 😁

A bit. But I still have my tues
Wise decision. The 29er would handle park beautifully, but better to spread the wear and tear of the park between the bikes.
Come down to San Diego for year round riding.

27.5 FOR LIFE
So are these all off-grid trails. Meaning they not under any maintenance crews. Other than the builders of the trails.
You made the drop on Pamplemousse look too easy...and you didn't destroy you or your bike in the process :)
Ha it is a bit tricky
I heard of at least one person who broke their bike frame and several others who ended up in hospital shortly after it opened
