I was shocked to find Raul Esparza could sing. I only knew about him from Law and Order: SVU. I am going to have go and look up his other theater performances.
I was searching tonight about Raul Esparza, his age etc while wtaching Law and Order SVU (in France it is New York Unité spéciale). And I saw links with Raul Esparza singing... What a shock hearing his voice... I just said to my husband that here in France, We never broadcast good singers with such a beautiful voice.

I always found this song very creepy but then Raul starts singing and I think "okay not so creepy anymore". Then we get towards the end of the video and and "Nope. Nevermind. Still creepy."
When did this impoverished family become syw, syw terbly pywsh?! Even BBC English when the film was made was never this cut-glass. Shame, because he has a nice voice for the role.
In their defense, they didn’t have a dialect coach, and Dick Van Dyke didn’t even bother with the accent in the movie....I think maybe a more common voiced performer would’ve been great in the role, like maybe I don’t know, Robert Lindsay.
I have yet to see anything Mr. Esparza has not absolutely nailed. What a talent.
