    I've had this RC for almost a year now, and after a couple upgrades, it is one of my more durable RCs, even considering it's size and weight. I installed a front aluminum diff case, aluminum bell crank, and a 70KG servo. Yes, that isn't a typo, 70 KG. Other upgrades, body protection rather, is T-Bone racing front and rear bumpers, front shock shields, and a belly skidplate. Since these updates/upgrades, I've have very few mechanical problems. Last breakage was I broke a rod end on the upper rear links. Before that I smacked into a rock the size of the truck and broke an a-arm. This thing does mutilate tires and should keep extras on hand. I've got 2 sets, plus a few from when I replaced 2 because 1 blew out. I replace two at a time because it will spin the tire that's bald and make it even harder to drive on full power on 8s.

    I love this thing and also want to mention. Steering bellcrank and servo saver breaks fast. Those you mentioned and the servo savor all have broke on my truck. The shock tower 3 times. I hope someone makes a metal one soon. Overall still a great truck with power and sweet features. It’s fun to drive and at the end of the day that’s what matters!

    Losi really needs to address the steering issues this thing has. I bought this truck about 3 weeks ago and it's been on my bench almost the whole time. It's the first Losi I've ever bought and it's left a really bad taste in my mouth. With that said, when you get this truck dialed in, it's a beast and really fun to drive. The suspension system is incredible and the way it handles sliding through corners is so much fun! Great review!

      We use a lot of different cars, and many times they have different plug or connector requirements. One of the packs that solve this are the Venom packs with the UNI 2.0 connector adapters. Makes life a lot easier! They're usually a lower C rating so the power isn't the best, but they are so convenient that they're great for a grab and go situation, or general bashing. We also use some Gens Ace packs sometime because they have larger 6S packs for great prices and power is decent. And lastly are ProTek 100C or 120C for maximum power/speed. These are more expensive but the "punch" out of them is awesome. Some of them only have bullet connectors, so you need to solder up your own leads sometimes; it's a bit more of a hassle, but if you want that extra power, well worth it.
      Here's one of the Venom packs with the UNI 2.0 connector adapters; fits 5 different connector types: www.amainhobbies.com/venom-power-2s-30c-hard-case-lipo-battery-w-uni-2.0-connector-7.4v-5000mah-vnr15149/p449627
      And then here is a ProTek with bullets (you supply the connector if you don't use bullets): www.amainhobbies.com/protek-rc-2s-120c-low-ir-sigraphene-hv-lcg-lipo-battery-7.6v-6300mah-ptk-5115-20/p1060483

    Ok a yr later, what do you think about this RC car compared to the DBXLE 2.0 ?

    • @AMain_Hobbies
      @AMain_Hobbies  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a great buggy. It's much more oriented for rough terrain and captures that particular look and detail. The DBXLE 2.0 is much more stretched and flat, great for smoother terrain or whoops, but I wouldn't drive it aggressively through rocks like you can on the SRR. The hinged body and chassis layout of the DBXLE 2.0 is a lot more convenient. But the looks and scale details aren't quite as nice as the SRR. It's a give and take. They're both great vehicles, designed for different applications and terrain.

      AMain Hobbies ok One more question would you get the X Maxx over both of those buggys ?

    • @AMain_Hobbies
      @AMain_Hobbies  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. The X-Maxx sits high off the ground and is designed to do wheelies and hit big jumps; it's designed for a different application than these two buggies. The real question here is; how do you want to use the buggy? And what terrain type do you have to drive in? You'll be much better off if you get the vehicle that will match how you drive. Do you want to hit big jumps, or do you want speed and high performance? Will you be driving on mostly smooth fast terrain, or do you have rough and slower, uneven terrain? You're asking some great questions. I'm glad you're doing your research before making a purchase!

    I broke the right side lower suspension arm exactly like you did. I ran into a rock as well and I hear a loud bang as I hit it. First major repair after a month of heavy use. Still waiting for the aluminum suspension arms to arrive so I can get it back in action. Also tossing in a Spektrum S9020 1/5 scale servo while I’m at it.
    Last, about how long was the battery life out of that 8s set up you were using? Great vid.

    • @AMain_Hobbies
      @AMain_Hobbies  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Right! It's almost like the tire had no where to go but wedge into that rock and tear the arm back. We don't blame the car for that. Happy to hear the arm was your major repair after a month of bashing. When we went out bashing the batteries lasted somewhere around 30 minutes, but that is half driving and half filming. So in an all-out run, 10-15 minutes would probably be our times, but unfortunately i don't have specific times. Have you already swapped out your servo? I'm interested to hear how that works out.
