Walking in BERLIN / Germany - Long Tour in the Rain - 4K 60fps (UHD)

- We picked rainy day in Berlin yet we manage to see several sights on this afternoon. Starting at the Museum Island there is first a little detour to the Gorki Theatre. Then main sights come into view towards Alexanderplatz with the iconic East Berlin TV tower.
We head back in more rain on the wide street "Unter den Linden" towards the most famous sight of Berlin: the Brandenburg Gate. Checking the nearby Reichstag we go towards Jewish Memorial followed by the Potsdamer Platz. We check the "Topography of Terror" exhibition along the old wall and end this walk at the famous "Checkpoint Charlie" which was the old border crossing between East and West Berlin.
Even with the rain there are tourists are on the street. Enjoy!

Really enjoyed this video! My daughter is in WEST Berlin, as a "freelance" Yoga Instructor. Been there 3 years now. I am from Stuttgart, Germany. I have not been back to Germany since 1967. My mother, Renate is a survivor of the WAR. She remembers it well.
I have Google Mapped Berlin, east and west, so I can see what it looks like there. I have never been to Berlin and my daughter's FB and Instagram pictures are so vague. Example: I have been wanting to see the remains of the Berlin Wall. You actually walked to it! 1:22:43 Plus Through it! Thank you so much. Your walks takes me to places that Google map does not, or I don't know how to locate it. PLUS, I love the sounds of BERLIN! You have an awesome Microphone! Sorry it rained so much. It's always raining there. When the sun does come out, everybody in Berlin is on HOLIDAY! I don't think anyone works on sunny days in Berlin! Haha! :)
Talking about rain. It's very gloomy & sad in BERLIN. The city is scarred from WW2. Plus from the division. As you can see, from all the constructions to restore and update. Love for you to walk the EAST SIDE. It's worse there.
Lots more UGLY GRAFFITI on EAST BERLIN. (This is so sad, disrespectful and depressing).
West Berlin is so CLEAN! People take pride there. I rarely saw anyone walking with a drink. Here in the USA,,,,everyone carries a drink and throws it anywhere. It's ugly & awful!

Was neat seeing 25:08 the *World Time Clock* as well. Saw lots of Clocks on buildings there. Loved all the Cathedrals. Plus the bridges over the Spree River.

Schon 3 x war ich in unserer Geschichts trächtigen Hauptstadt Berlin . Das E rstemal 1961 vor dem Mauerbau zum Einsatz als Pfadfinderin beim ev. Kirchentag . Dann zu DDR Zeiten als sich die Lady Baden Povell von Deutschland verabschiedete . Dann wieder beim ersten Ökumenischen Kirchentag zu Besuch . Es waren immer besondere Erlebnisse in meinem 76jährigen Leben wofür ich sehr dankbar bin .

We lived in Bonn, then moved to East Berlin for 5 years and it was a good souvenir for all family members from dad to the youngest in the family. I still have good times and think about the German Democratic Republic (GDR) all my life.
That's interesting. I've never visited Bonn even though I was next door in Cologne. The eastern cities received investments for renovation and look nice now

Why did the person run while filming? Is that some form of editing? I see this in other '' walking '' videos. Why do they do that?
Sometimes I walk fast / almost run when there are areas with little to see. It is some form of "fast forward" - by foot. The videos are rather long and on average maybe 20% gets viewed. The running through the "boring" parts is more interesting to me and maybe also to most viewers. Thanks for watching!

Does your osmo pocket heats up or turn itself off during recording as you have made more then 1 hour video...
Yes, the passive cooling of the Osmo Pocket is a problem in hot climates. I had shut downs in Thailand after 30-40' sometimes.. I used some kind of hack. There are eye-masks with a gel or a small cooling pack which I put around the handle. This stuff absorbed some heat and made it record for 50'+ there. This was also the max I wanted to walk in 40°C+ heat so it was fine. In european climate with 30 °C max I have no problem recording for 1+ hour though it gets very hot and I worry when it would break

Najlepiej nagrywa im sie filmy przy paskudnej pogodzie i im ciemniej tym lepiej.Najwazniejsze wrzucic film na YT aby kasa dzwonila a naprawde szkoda bo moglyby byc z tej "bieganiny " fajne filmy. Mam pytanie , czy naprawde autorzy tych filmow maja takie parcie na kase ze nie moga poczekac na ladniejsza pogode ? Byloby to napewna z korzyscia dla owocow ich pracy!!! Właściwie, niektórzy ludzie lubią deszczową pogodę na wideo, ponieważ na TH-cam jest wiele filmów o słonecznej pogodzie w Berlinie i okolicach. Ja osobiście robię te spacery, kiedy tylko jest to możliwe. Ponieważ kamera nie jest wodoodporna, wolę też mniej mżawki.

Actually, some people enjoy rainy weather on video as there are many sunshine videos of Berlin and around on TH-cam. I personally do the walks whenever possible. As the camera isn't waterproof I also prefer less drizzle.

ich dachte immer berlin wird von den linken regiert. so viel freifläche ohne aufenthaltsqualität. ich würde erst einmal überall an den breiten gehwegen zur strasse bäume pflanzen. dazwischen klassische sitzbänke aufstellen. es gibt viel schöne gebäude aber dazwischen ist einöde!
War auch mein Gedanke. Im Prinzip hat Berlin wirklich viel interessante Architektur (ich zähle auch den Fernsehturm mit dazu) aber dazwischen wirkt es triste und grau. Die Stadt wirkt auf mich so nach dem Motto "Sehr breit und dafür sehr leer". Es wirkt wie eine Stadt, die noch erbaut werden muss.
Auf der anderen Seite ist für viele aber auch dieses "Graue" dazwischen gerade der Berliner Charme. Ich habe mir aber auch mal angesehen wie die Stadt an manchen Stellen vor dem 2. WK aussah und wie sie heute aussieht. Eine Rekonstruktion schadet an vielen Stellen nicht.
Ich werde mal sehen, ob ich im Sommer nach Berlin komme. Es sollte da etwas grüner sein
Das angesprochene Problem ist nicht die Jahreszeit. Es ist, dass es allgemein an Bäume, Begrünungen, Blumen, Sitzbänke etc fehlt. Die Straßenräume/Plätze keine Aufenthaltsqualität haben!
