Loud pipes on a Chevelle or Mustang is cool......loud pipes on a truck is just stupid. I see kids do that all the time around here----foot to the floor, sounding like a NASCAR stocker, but doing all of 30 mph.....

Speed engineering headers are the best headers for a 5.3, and backed with a carven exhaust which is a pure racing exhaust sounds absolutely amazing. But love the content
On an offroad vehicle.....for the money.......MAYBE. They don't make a header for a street truck.
Done a few header installs over the years but nothing lately. Brings back memories.
I also have a 99!!but its the 4.3 v6 vortec

Nice braddah. Next time try jump it with a milwaukee battery. I do it all the time, even if you only get 2 bars it'll still jump it like nothing. And dont worry you can still use the battery after like normal
I've been wanting to get some shorty headers for my 2015 silverado 5.3.
Shorty headers are a waste of money, the stock manifolds make the same power. Go long tube or nothing.
Worried about check engine light and passing emissions .. buys long tube headers without obd compliant cats ... Sounds good thanks for the entertainment !

Get some copper exhaust gaskets...they work the best. I run them on my Pontiac...no more exhaust leaks

Ya I don't know where you live but I'd just delete the egr and tune it out and the cheap hearers I got off ebay looked like they had cats but definitely did not so I had to turn off the rear o2s anyway

Back a while we put headers on an put cherry bombs on them. Those were the good old days when you had good sound.
And I'd throw away those gaskets that came with it and get some MLS or reuse the stock MLS ones
My truck came with those same headers they kept on burning the spark plug wire.

I’ve been looking at header kits for my 08 Silverado on eBay but they all say in the description that they aren’t for a 4x4 and mine is a 4x4.
The '99 is 4x4 and the ones we got fit just fine (except for the header pipe we took the hammer to 😅)

How much cab noise are you getting in your Trail Boss with the new exhaust. I take my 2020 Trail Boss to our campsite 2 hours away every weekend and do not want it droning and being annoying while on the road. I have the 6.2 in my truck... any info is appreciated.
The AWE is noticeable in the cab (it isn't quiet) but doesn't bother me. The Borla S Type was super quite cruising but loud under throttle where the AWE sounds good all the time.

Hey man I’m new to the truck scene and I’m interested in buying some headers would I have to buy the gaskets and Y pipe as well sorry for my ignorance
take it to a shop, do the headers yourself then take it to a shop for them to weld a x or y pipe.
The rear exhaust manifold bolts break over time due to the weight hanging from them with the "Y" pipe bolted up and pulled down.
Makes sense!
My old man always used to push air tools also. Funny

I had to install that bracket on my old 6.0 bc I had a header leak. It was a pain in the but with everything in there. Sounds great!!

@@LonestarHawaiian I called Chevrolet and of course they asked for my vin and said my Vechile is not compatible I was like no shit surlock, but I’m sure we can install it the thing would be the connection part wiring stuff

So I had the same problem with my bolts breaking off in the 317 aluminum heads in a 01 C3! The shop I brought it to welded a steel nut to the broken bolt then pulled it right out!

Less than 10K subs away from the shop. I think I joined around 40K on a different account and then again with this one. Can’t wait to see the build. I know you’re super busy in your life but I do have a bit of unsolicited advice. If you can, try uploading more. The more videos that get uploaded, the more people see them and life and comment which in turn gets you in that almighty algorithm. I’m sure you know this but it’s worth saying still. You obviously make a good living with your day job but if it’s your passion to become a full time content creator then that’s the way to speed things up. Either way I’ll be here to watch and like all your stuff no matter what you end up doing.

i have an 02. it already sounds pretty good. but maybe someday when i don't need it as a truck truck. i'll put some headers and such on it. currently has cone hot air intake and flowmaster, bought it that way. but its what i was going to do anyways. got lucky. found the color i wanted, only 114k miles and it was only $6500 right before everything went crazy.

Welder is the best method of removing broken bolts specially on those Chevy engines. Build up the bolt with weld and put a washer on it weld it to the broken bolt. With a good pair of vide grip plies and it comes out. I work at a dealership and I’ve removed a lot of broken bolts in headers on those engines
