Your steps offer enough time for all, to see the progres project.Don't try to change...you are perfect timing. Thank you very much...
So excited to try them out! Individual transform has been on my wish list so I am really excited to put that to use. Individual opacity has some fun possibilities as well. linked your release video in the pinned comment so I don't need to update this tutorial right away lol
you can add slice transform to clips, layers, or groups in order to route content to specific slices. What will work best depends on the needs of your specific show, so experiment and find out what works for you
Hi i was wondering if there's any option to make those slices "turn off" in a different time and then again turn on kinda flashed out of sync at a time determined by me
You could possibly midi map the Bypass (B) toggle on each slice in the slice transform effect or you could use a plugin like chaser to achieve an effect like that. There are other slice 'chase' plugins and techniques as well. Take a look and let me know if that solves your problem, or if there is more clarification you can provide about what you are trying to achieve to help me point you in the right direction
@SeanBowes Hello Please, is it possible to output slice into screen just using a laptop that is connected to the video processor via HDMI without any hardware?
Instead of putting slice transform on the composition, try it on a couple of layers, and only include some of the slices in each. Play different content on each layer. You could also do this with a couple of groups, groups and layers, or even individual clips. Just don’t stack slice transforms on top of each other, that can get weird.
Hi Sean. I'm starting on this, I don't know if I'm doing something wrong. I try to do what you do at 12:56 with Text block, also what you do at 17:47 by adding the slices directly. However in the Text block and the slices I don't get the effect like in your video. In the case of the Text block with transform slice, the text goes to the slice that I add but the text has a background, the background is the clip that I have selected. If I add the effects directly to the specific layer where the clip is, I get the effect correctly.
Hey Nestor, I'm not sure that I fully understand the problem, but sometimes issues happen when you have multiple slice transforms and they start interfering - for example having it on a layer and a clip in that layer, or on a clip and as an effects clip . Check to see if there is some interference happening, or send me some screenshots on Instagram and I will try to help you out!
@@nestormartinez5291 yeah it seems like you have some slice transforms interfering with each other. Be careful about layer order and how things affect each other. Groups can help add extra separation sometimes.
@@SeanBowes In this case I apply the slice transform on the layer 1, where the clip its and it is applied correctly: i.imgur.com/PwL7f8s.png Here I add the Text block in layer 2, then slice transform in Text block. But it seems that next to the Text block some pieces of the layer 1 clip are added and mixed: i.imgur.com/rkHSvFX.png It is as if the four slices were added inside the main wall with the Text block
interesting. yeah what that looks like is that there is an additional slice transform with the Main Wall slice between the content layer and the text layer maybe as an effects clip and that is causing the duplication. I cannot recreate it using the steps you describe with just two layers. Can you screenshot your layers? What version of Resolume are you using?
Sean, great tutorial. Could you tell me what is the resolution of the composition and if you always use the same regardless of the output? Is there a standard for the size of the composition? thank you!
In this example it is 3840x2160. It should be whatever size it needs to be to fit all of the slices into the input map without scaling. It does not have to be a standard size. Sometimes I go really wide if my stage is really wide. It varies show to show.

Hey, for this one I just uploaded the png so you can load that in to your Input guide and use it to make your slices. If you’re not sure how that works check out my other video about LED mapping.
Version 7.13 and up allow you to set different modes for different slices, so just set 1 to fill and the rest to mask. Or, just include the 1 slice you want set to fill in slice transform and you will achieve a similar effect.

You need to have Advanced output selected under the outputs menu. If it is set to Disabled or set to another display (Display 1, Display 2) it will not show slices. If you need to see the output on a display, Choose that display under the Device settings inside Advanced output instead of in the Outputs Menu. Click the Screen name on the left, and change the Device dropdown. The default is Virtual Output so change that dropdown to the correct display.Advanced Output should be active after clicking save and close, so that is odd if it isnt, but that is what causes slices to disappear from the slices menu. If this still doesnt work, there is an error and you should contact Resolume Support
