John´s.

Hi there, Great video! I'm a marine biologist at KAUST and doing a study on manta rays in the Red Sea to understand their distribution and movements. Can you confirm the month/year the manta footage was taken, and confirm it was at. Habili Ali Reef? Thanks so much!

Thank you very much. We had mantas at Habili Ali twice. Once in January 2017 and in March 2016. It was a single manta every time. The one in March was the largest we saw in the Red Sea with about 3 meters

@@frankude687 Cool! So, the manta I see in this video at 2:55 - that. one was seen in March 2016 or in January 2017? I can see enough of its belly to try and match it to pictures in our growing database. So knowing the date for that one would be really helpful. Thanks!

@@frankude687 right on! Thanks a lot for looking into it. We try to collect so much data, but not everyone can tell us when and where. So I really appreciate your effort!

Great footage, can I know which month did u do this and was it difficult in terms of currents?

Kelvin Ho, the recordings were made in december. Most of the dives are drift dives along amazing deep walls covered by superb coral. You will need to be an experienced diver to go there as the current is often very strong and the reefs are in Open Sea with great depths. But it's worth it :)
