For what it's worth, the Shadow PSAS model was a fan creation that eventually got passed off as real over the years. Oddworld's Abe was set for DLC3 alongside Dart, before allegedly poor European sales led to Sony dropping the game, despite better than expected _overall_ sales. A bunch of other characters ended up on whiteboards, and a few made it to early planning. Chun-Li for example was discussed, but never got far with Capcom I believe - Capcom's insistence on DmC Dante probably didn't help matters.
Surprised Astro's Playroom wasn't mentioned. It has a lot of crossover content, lovingly recreating scenes and characters from PlayStation's entire legacy, with the game serving as a 3D platformer, a tech demo, and a PlayStation museum at the same time.
Another one in the Metal Gear Series is the Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker & Monster Hunter Crossover Missions where you could hunt Monsters like Rathalos in Metal Gear!
@@OmniNexuz Absolutely amazing for sure. It wasn't until I beat the games story that I even found out that was a thing too. As an avid MH fan I was immediately blown away.
Most recently Ghost of Tsushima had in-game outfits based off of Sly Cooper, Kratos, Wander from Shadow of the Colossus, and even the hunter from Bloodborne. And eventually they patched in a set for Aloy. Fun stuff!
One of my favorite video game crossovers in general, not just Playstation, was the MGS Peace Walker x Monster Hunter one. It featured 3 unique boss fights on Peace Walker where you could fight Tigrex, Rathalos (both from MH) and the craziest one, an 'organic' version of Metal Gear Rex called "Gear Rex". It was soooo cool. Tbh I don't know if you can even call it a PS crossover anymore since it is on the HD collection on both PS3 and 360... but back then MGS and MH were still considered PS exclusive (though I think MH TRI on the Wii had already released too so not so sure on that either).
you also get Tanegashima through a random drop from Rathalos and the best thing about the whole crossover is the cutscene between Snake and Trenya! There were also costumes based on The Boss, Big Boss and Solid Snake in Monster Hunter Portable 3rd as part of the crossover.
Another one: Fall Guys has Ratchet, Clank, Sackboy, Aloy, Jin Sekai (Ghost of Tsushima), and T-Rex from Astro's Playroom. Also, of course, Jon and your love of Gravity Rush.
I was completely unaware of the monkey costume in "Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal." This is coming from someone who has played the HD version of Up Your Arsenal. The only secret I knew about was the double-sided lightsaber. Also, I loved PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. My favorite characters were Ratchet, Jak, and Sly Cooper. Mostly because I had played their games. Another character I liked was Radec, despite not having played a Killzone game. I also liked Raiden, even though I didn't play Metal Gear Rising: Revengance until after that.
This video gives me an excuse to gush about Ape Escape again and cry that it’s more than likely dead in the water thanks to Japan Studio dissolving. Thanks Jon! Also holy crap Ragnarok Odyssey Ace was mentioned? I feel like I was the only one who bought that game! Still sitting on my shelf too as a matter of fact, lol.
Technically Japan Studio isn't GONE gone, it just got folded into Team Asobi. Probably doesn't mean much but I do hope they branch out beyond Astro in the future
@@icedcapplord710 oh please, they’re as good as gone. That’d be like saying Capcom still has Clover Studio, because they “technically” reabsorbed them.
In Genshin Impact, Aloy: - Has a passive ability where if she is in the party she can safely approach any animal that drops meat where they'd instead run away. - Has an exclusive bow that could've been obtained only on PS4/5. Its ability ONLY WORKED if played on those platforms. - Sends a message on her birthday that's super sweet and apparently this is the first time she felt she could actually celebrate her birthday. - Is kinda mid to use, but it's neat that she's in the game at all.
PSABR was a ton of fun. More than I have had with any Smash game only because of 1 feature. I was able to do Ranked 2v2 with a friend where we both would always be together on a team.
Couple things as a huge PS All-Stars fan and member of the competitive community back in the day. The game is not exclusively time matches that's just the default, stock matches as well as amount of kill matches exist. 2v2 was easily the best and most fun and balanced mode in the game. Some characters just had blatantly better supers, combos, and confirms that made the cast super unbalanced in a 1v1 environment. Also the DLC was CATASTROPHIC to the game. The characters and stages were cool but with every character added to the game came a ton of glitches and balance issues. Kat was a MONSTER of a character to the point where almost every lobby had a Kat player, she basically had full combos and kill confirms from every single attack she did. The Zeus/Isaac DLC was super buggy and caused so many issues and at the time following it's release Sony axed the company in charge of the game and handed off a final patch to Sony Santa Monica that ultimately didn't fix all the issues with the game. The game was left in such a sorry state but goddamn if I didn't spend hundreds of hours of my life doing 2v2 online with a friend while it lasted
It’s sad to me how Everybody’s Golf died so unceremoniously. Clap Hanz Golf is a fun enough mobile game, but the big console titles with the crossover content were all so fun and clearly passionately made sports games. Sad we never were able to tee off as modern PlayStation icons… RIP my hopes for golfing as Aloy. 😢
Toro and Kuro have a small cameo in Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls for Vita. They appear on an assembly line for the Monokuma robots. Toro's room is also hidden away behind an invisible wall. There's also obviously Astro's Playroom on PS5 featuring tons of first and third party references all throughout. Ratchet is an unlockable racer in the fantastic Jak X: Combat Racing on PS2.
ModNation Racers had Kratos, Sly Cooper, Sweet Tooth, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Nathan Drake, Sackboy(Pre-Order bonus only) and the Helghast Solider from Killzone in terms of PlayStation First Party and for the guest character Flo from Progressive Commercials is in the game too.
