It's so funny... When I watch your flights with Nancy, I can do a pretty good job predicting when she will start talking the most. Always at sterile cockpit time!
I always find it interesting the conversations that the passenger/s try to have with a pilot that has a lot of energy focused on getting safely on the ground. Reminds me of the teaching that should always be done with your passengers while everything is functioning properly! Thank you for showing us what true professionalism looks like!
I used to spend a lot of time underwater in the Hood Canal.. and once in a while in the Straight west of Port Angeles. The Olympic mnts are indeed quite rugged. One of my favorite tiny villages is up in them thar hills, the crossroads known as Humpstulips. Also of interest right on the western shore of the Hood, Lilliwop.
Jerry good flight. BTW eAPIS has to be filed when leaving the US as well as entering. And you have to wait for the OK This I do about 6 times a year traveling to the US from Canada and back 👍
Random Question: Were your driving a Fairlane down 395 near Mammoth today? If so, I think I saw you. Sorry to hear about your engine. My engine is getting an overhaul right now so I feel your pain.
@@Jerry.Wagner OK so thats pretty low time for a critical part failure. Good thing you fly twins. Nice flying BTW. Do you know what brand pistons installed and did they raise the comp. ratio from OEM engine? Some of those overhauled engines seem to have more power so thats why im asking. I recall on one of your planes you have trouble holding it stopped with brakes on runups. Maybe need to run higher octane fuel.
OK i guess your shop will inspect other pistons. Another possibility is turbo boost went high for some reason. Was the power level between engines close to same? I assume those are cast pistons vs. forged.
JW, if cause is unknown maybe you can make a deal with engine builder for an exchange engine based pro rata on TBO. Then you eliminate residual debris in engine and unknown cause of failure problems. Esp. if it has a warranty. @@Jerry.Wagner
Comments were blocked on the video detailing your engine failure. What was the root cause of the piston failure. I cannot accept that in 2022 we have piston failures in these engines like it is still 1930. Fixing the symptoms not the cause.
Gotta turn the wife off again..hehe. Maybe during the very important concentration part of the flight she should hold those thoughts for later...good to have a button.

ECI Pistons, factory power rating, no higher octane fuel available only 100 Low Lead right now
