I would file the sharp corners off the inside of the jaws. Otherwise they tend to make cuts in the leg or foot and no need being any more ouch factor than necessary to hold them. How much does the pipe insulation effect the pan tension?
That is dependent upon the type of foam you use. You can use closed cell foam, like pipe insulation for higher pan tension, or open cell foam for less pan tension. Since this is a 60 second video designed to illustrate a principle, I did not have time to go in depth about foam types. Hope that makes sense.
@@CedarIIOutdoors Closed cell foam doesn’t absorb water. That’s why it’s used in sleeping pads in sub zero weather. A closed cell foam pad is flexible and pliant below zero. The foam does not absorb water and it does not freeze. Take a piece of closed cell foam, soak it in water and then put it in your freezer. Try it.
I'll give that a try. It blows my mond that in order to prevent stuff from going under the pan, you put something under the pan. If it works for you, great. I'd rather continue to try to keep an edge over the animals I'm trying to catch.
@Meattrapper, my trapping brother, I wish to apologize for my shitty attitude. I appreciate your stand up response. Keep up the good work. Tight chains.
What's your pan tension set at? Looks like your cranking on the pan to get it to fire
I like to fiberglass pipe insulation
I just bend some leaves in half and jam them under the pan
Great idea Tim! 😎👍
Outstanding
Cotton works well
Tight chains And Happy new year
первый раз вижу хотя бы небольшой обзор данного капкана
Bridger #1 is an all around great trap

How's that work when it's frozen? Oh, it doesn't
At what temperature does foam freeze solid?
@@Meattrapper 32° F when it's wet. Everyone knows that.
