While Gentleman Bastards by Scott Lynch is unfinished, the three published books are so worth reading! Lynch is one of my favorite fantasy writers in terms dialogue, humor, setting, and over-the-top swashbuckling plots. You can also space the books far apart and they stand alone pretty well. I hope you enjoy all these books you hauled!
Having waited years for many series to conclude I admittedly have less patience today. However I did read the prologue to Lies of Locke Lamora and really enjoyed it so I do intend to read it. At least there are 3 books out. Thank you so much for watching. ❤️
Great book haul! I like for my books to match, too! (I borderline obsess over it at times). I'm slowly making my way through the Drenaii series as well - I'll be reading the 5th book in December. Thanks for the video!
Thank you Josh. When you love books, especially collecting them I think it's natural to want them to match. I want to re-read The Drenaii series as well as it's been years.
Hi, Kathi, It looks like you raided my TBR shelf! The Fifth Season, The Black Company, The Licanus Trilogy, The Three Body Problem, and The Faithful and The Fallen are all on my shelf just waiting for me to find time to read them (along with many others...). I hope you enjoy Riyria Revelations, its a fun ride. Royce and Hadrian are great protagonists.
The chronicles of Amber is great! I read the first 5 books a couple of months ago - a really fun read! I plan on returning to finish the last 5 in the series!
Hi Kathi One of my favourite one off books is The Martian, a really well written book that keeps you on the edge. That would be an excellent reading start from your haul. The film was a good adaption but prefer the book. Also one of my top 5 fantasy series is The Fate and the Fallen by John Gwynne. I would highly recommend you start that fantasy series from your haul. A really well planned out series with characters that jump out of the pages. Good luck
I've been wanting to read some sci-fi so perhaps I'll read The Martian soon. And Faith and the Fallen is a series I'm keen to start when I finish the last book in The Demon Cycle series. Thank you for the recommendations. 😊
Ah geez I’m way off! Nice haul! You got some beautiful books and sets. I have that copy of The Complete Book of Amber and want to get to it real soon! 🤗
Hey Kathi. Loving your Haul, very impressive. Iain M Banks Culture Series is Wonderful . Funnily enough I was going to recommend it to you just before you got to the point off mentioning it. And thought previously to recommend to you when I had noticed it wasn't in your collection. Would love to hear a Culture Series Review from you . X
a bit off topic but i thought you might know .What are some good quality/reputable hardcover books (preferably special/deluxe editions) brands that are affordable other than the Barnes & Noble exclusives?
My guess was 482 but hardcovers are still to come so I will get close to the total number:-) Just one Fantasy Recommendation from me a classic for all ages. "The never-ending Story" by Michael Ende. Never watch the movie it ruins the book. The Martian was such a fun read, great story lots of humor and action and suspense reread many times. Ready player one is just pure fun too not the writing stile but the story for all of us in their 50s The second book was crap sorry same story no surprises at all very disappointing in my opinion. Three Body Problem also a winner for me but i am curious on your opinions in the future.
🤣🤣 Not quite that many. I already have The Neverending Story and have read it. I'm thinking of getting the hardcover. I'm looking forward to reading The Martian. I haven't decided whether to read Ready Player Two as others have also said it's rubbish. Oh you've read Three Body Problem? I really want to read that soon.
@@NerdyKathi Three Body is great you can reread again and again and you will find always a new aspect of the story, Of course ists hard scify too but dont be afraid of that there is so much more, you are a well educated person instead of me and I still could understand some of the ideas in the book. for an educates person i think its even more enlightening :-)
I read "The Maze Runner" a few years ago. I enjoyed the story, but the quality of the writing wasn't good enough for me to continue the series. I had just finished a book by a very talented author, so when I started reading "The Maze Runner" I instantly felt a drop in quality in the writing. I think it's a mediocre book in terms of writing skills.
Oooh, too low again, but closer - lol. I've read a few of your haul. I enjoy the Parasol Protectorate by Carriger as light reads and love the banter in the Riyria Revelations! The Broken Earth trilogy is beautifully written but a bit hard to understand at times. It's not your everyday fantasy, but it stays in your thoughts for quite some time. I have the BLeeD trilogy, but have not yet tried it. I'm not a big fan of battles (Red Rising was not for me!), so I'm not sure about the series, but I enjoy Brian's reviews and wanted to support him. I've also read Lies of Locke Lamora and enjoyed it! You have so many others that I know nothing about! It's much fun watching you share your "addiction". Enjoy your reads!!
You were close! 😂 I’m so looking forward to reading some of these. I have read a chapter of Riyria and really liked it and the prologue of Locke Lamora. Thank you so much for your wonderful support. It is very much appreciated. ❤

I'm actually reading Black Company right now and enjoying it. Glad I picked it up. Riryia is one I want to get to soon.

Amazing book haul! I guessed 25. I was waaay off 😂
Close! 😂
I just finished The Forgetting Moon by Brian Lee Durfee. It was amazing, I hope you enjoy it as well :)
I'm looking forward to reading it.
Ok I’m pausing to guess.. 10!
Now let’s see.
Ah geez I’m way off!

My best friend loves the author so I had to give it a try. I’m looking forward to starting it, most likely next year.

I haven't researched that in relation to fantasy.
So close! I guessed 47.

I got all the books second hand so at least they didn’t cost me much. It might be that they work for me. I guess I’ll find out.
Guessing 35.
