Paramilitary and CAPF are usually considered the same because they are governed by Home Ministry and hence you may be of the opinion that NSG is a part of CAPF or CRPF is a part of Para-Military.
To rule out the confusion, Only Para military are helped by the senior officers of Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Airforce. Hence you may have seen a Army officer later joining NSG or a coast guard officer working with Indian Navy, Assam Rifles working with Indian Army. You won't see any interference of Indian Army, Navy or airforce in CAPF (BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, CISF)
Lastly, Rashtriya Rifles is a part of Indian Army.
Rashtriya rifles belongs to ARMY which is made for doing counter insurgency & antiterrorism operation (encounter).It's not paramilitary.In Kashmir valley CRPF, Kashmir police,& Rashtriya rifles combinely making encounters.

Paramilitary forces had relevance in colonial era, when they were para(addition) to the military.
Since we don't need much work force in military during peace-time, it was redefined as CAPF under Ministry of Home affairs.
P.s. - CAPF is Likewise USA' MILITARY POLICE.

There is a Unit in India...which is known as Tripura State Rifles (TSR). It's is formed according to the pattern of Assam Rifles. Now 2 new battalions is going to be opened by the Central Government.

Coast Guard is neither a paramilitary force nor an armed force. "Armed forces of the union of India" comprises of army, navy and af ONLY. Some people think that ICG is the fourth armed force, this fact is completely wrong.
Rashtriya rifles is a part of full fledged Indian army. Don't categorize it under paramilitary force.

NSG has two wings Special Action Group(SAG) which is primarily for counter terrorist and anti hijacking operations. This comprises on personnel from Army only. Special Rangers Group or SRG is the operational support wing, it is to support operations of SAG. SRG also forms core protection element in Z+ security, since SRG comprises of central police personnel. Hope this clarifies your doubts.

Firstly, while talking about India's forces you have shown NSCN-K which is an enemy of India. You also mentioned that para military forces are managed my military (armed forces officers). That is only true for Rashtriya Rifles and Assam Rifles, might be for true of SFF as well. But, NSG is managed by an IPS officer who is the dg (head) of that force. Indian Coast Guard is also not managed by a Naval officer, it is managed by an ICG officer dg.
