Since there are many people who are fans of train journey in India, I think that should be mentioned as well. Just for information, you can reach Jammu Tawi station by train directly from Delhi and many other parts of India. From there, you need to take a cab or bus to Srinagar. From Srinagar, you can hire a cab to take you to Leh via the Zozilla pass. I think there may be bus service too on that route but I cannot confirm that. Yes, it's a long route but for those who have the time, it's still an adventure.
