My 2010 Stratoliner Deluxe vs my buddies M109r. My bike: Patrick Racing intake Freedom Performance Sharp Curve Radius exhaust Power Commander 5 His: ???Slip on???
I like the Boulevards, but man those engines don't sound good at all. Whether it's the 950 Bolt, the Stryker, or the Raider, all of the Yamaha engines sound great. With a full exhaust and ECU flash, the Yamaha should make about 100 hp at the wheel.
Love the stratoliner but these are two entirely different bikes. I owned an M109R and they are super fast but have less direct power because of the shaft drive. I smoked a harley-davidson CVO on mine. They are also extremely uncomfortable for riding in touring situations. I loved my M109R when I had it and kept it for almost 6 years, but for the kind of riding I want to do these days, the Stratoliner is where it's at!
@@longthetiger99 I guess using that math, you might not think there much difference. Of course, if you use the REAL stats, then the difference is much more apparent. Star Stratoliner 82hp/103.5tq to the wheel. Suzuki M109R 110hp/100.5 to the wheel.
@@alfrede.neuman8611 well my stat had 100hp and 128tq at the rear wheel on the dyno at the Harley dealer last year so thats about as real as it gets its got D&D exhaust, barron intake and a cobra pro fuel manager on it. Stock I think Yamaha claims on the official specs its 98.6hp and 123tq if you google around even stock strats get 90's for hp and tq between 114 and 120 . here is a link to ivans performance you can see the bone stock strat gets 94hp and 118tq www.ivansperformanceproducts.com/stratoliner.htm
I had a M109...switched to the strat...2 words "No regrets!" "Love both"....i had to get rid of the bully...it made me take too many risks lol and i wanted a bike with power & sexy bags....i believe that the strat has the best bags on a bike....so i made the switch....for the M109 i made it do a bunny hop when i showed off its power....both wheels would leave the ground....those days i was complete daredevil lmao... but now the strat gives anorher side of me that i absolutely love....the cruise part & style & music...yezzzzz(buckwheat smile)
Man those M109R's are sexy. That 240mm back tire just looks plain bad ass! Love the post-race "Survivor" as you're making your way back to the pits. lol
I had an '08 M109R for 5 years and 60,000 miles. The best exhaust for it IMO is the Hard Krome Sideburners, sounds so beast with that exhaust. Since then I bought a new 2013 Yamaha VMAX and next to it an '06 Yamaha Stratoliner S. Both of 'em have stock exhaust, Hard Krome doesn't make the Sideburner for the Strat...
@Daniel - You may wanna take a look at the Samson Slash-Cut Exhaust for the Strat. I put them on my 07 Stratoliner S and folks can't help but compliment the 'Hammer-Down' sound it puts out, especially after she gets warmed up. Simply Awesome!!!
Dude, you cloud have won! The intruder obviously had a bad start, or else it wold be much worse. You have a powerful engine on low and medium rotation. You let it get to redline several times. You cant do that, if you take it to redline you are loosing power. You could have beat the intruder if you switch gear at 2.500 rpm....
Just talked to him today. He said he's running a Vance and Hines 2-1. I looked it up its the Vance and Hines Pro Pipe. www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/vance-hines-pro-pipe-chrome-exhaust-for-boulevard-m109r-2006-2011
I want those floorboard mounts the strat has for my raider for a mean powerful fat tire bike the raider is definitely choice. Can't wait to drop her ass extend the forks and add a nice batwing fairing and hopefully some deep pocket bags. Get that long low fat ass big tank bagger style I've always wanted
the m109 might be fast, but he didn't even hit the rev limit, should've had the suzuki in the first 2 gears because of the gear ratio. Plus more torque than suzuki, means the initial jump would've had them by 1bike length. only difference is the wind resistance because of fairing and bags, and the drivers skills.
Yeah the shifts where slow. I can rev out of each gear through 4th within a second each. Not saying the fully loaded Strat would have won, but I would have had him laying on his tank to catch my Roadliner
Yeah and the hard bags, rear seat, luggage rack, rear fender, crash bars, head light and blinkers, shit I would of pulled the gas tank off and ran with what was in carb and fuel lines, and ditch the driver seat as well just sat on the fram.. LMAO!!

I mean, it's 95hp vs 128hp. It's no surprise the Suzuki won, but I would take the Yamaha any day, for looks, comfort, sound.
Thanks Morte! I didn’t think I did too bad. And you’re right! Stratoliner (XV1900) is best sounding Japanese V twin!!!!

Yeap check out my stock Stratoliner at the track . Sound power and acceleration. Check my channel out & subscribe . Yamahas taking over Harley killers

considering the strat is a heavy heavy bagger you definitely held your own on the 109. love my strat, it's been along every coast with me
well, it`s not heavier than 109r.....
@@IMV218 ...Yes... Yes it is..... Stratoliner Deluxe - about 795lbs.... M109R - about 705...

always thought the Stratoliner would be a great bike, now I know it.
The M109 has a lot more horsepower, BUT I'd pick the Yamaha for touring!
if you consider 6hp "a lot" then again the strat has over 20ft pounds of torque on it.

Fast as hell. Sounds like crap.
@DmaxHd My 2006 m109r is so ugly, but people keep asking about it everywhere I go. The compliments never stop.
Ugly is in the eye of the beholder.
Fast as hell compared to a Sportster maybe lol.
@DmaxHd "it". Good job - everyone know what you're talking about.

m109 badass
Master Mechanix gloves?? I'm dyin'! LOL
Care to share the joke?
I wae
I wear them all the time
You have lost, but, at least, you got the music :D
That start killed you. That strat will hang with all the built high HP bikes. Stock mine does.
It was the music that slowed you down. It gave a running from the cops with your pants down vibe. Maybe play some music a guy would play next time.
I would have dropped the fairing for a race

Water cooled vs. air cooled. Water cooled has a higher compression ratio.

I'm digg'n the bat wing on the front ware did you get that? I've been looking for one but can't find one that will fit on my 13 M109.
The fairing on my stratoliner deluxe is the stock one from Yamaha.
Remove fairing and bags on the liner....much closer race
Yep, you got spanked, love my M09R.
Love mine too I have the BOSS edition, all blacked out.
If you shifted earlier you’d come closer to winning. You rev limited it in ever gear.

What kind od mirrors u have ?
