Happy to get ready with you!! I love putting on longer videos when I'm getting ready also! K Dramas are so much fun! I need to catch up on Love Next Door.
This was such a fun video to watch! I too have been binging Kdrama. My husband asked me how am I finishing the series so quickly and it's also because I skip through some of the "filler" scenes. Also, its been a joy to see your channel grow! Your personality is so relatable 💜
The fast forward button has become my best friend. LOL! What is your fav drama, or do you have an actor/actress that you watch everything from them? And thank you for the kind words. after work, I don't really have energy for friends, but chatting and getting to know my community has been life changing for me! ❤️
@erintaylorwrites completely understandable 🤣 I normally watch only happy feel-good drama to disconnect from work. So I have to fast forward a lot of fish kissing scenes. But, my favorites so far are: It's Okay Not To Be Okay, Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Vincenzo, and Cafe Minamdang
This was interesting! Never watched a K-drama, but kinda want to now. Love when you went into the tangent about drinking, DSMs, statistics on Cirrhosis, etc….always the Social Worker! Beautiful makeup look! TFS…Lorie 😊
I listened to you while I was in a relaxing long bath, lol. It was actually quite interesting to listen to. I’ve never watched a kDrama but we just watched elite, which is, I think a spain(?) high school murder drama and I’m always just floored at the differences of those kids versus USA kids. Very interesting topic, Erin. I always love listening to you just talk
Glad I could keep you company in the bath. 😂 I am always so interested in different cultures!! And also how different cultures see us in the US. I always have to laugh too, because if I had to put up with some of the drama in high school that they have in these TV shows.... 🫠 I would just fade away!! High school was so much fun and while there was crazy emotions and heart break...it was such a time to learn who I was as a person!
With the subtitles, yes, they do use the full names. They have an honorifics system: formal/respectful, semi formal and friendly. Oppa is an older brother or a boyfriend (if you are a woman), an older sister is an Unni (between females), and so on. It’s different for males and females. You can google Korean honorifics to find the whole list. It’s very interesting.
I don't watch K-dramas and I'm only halfway through but I have thoughts 😂😂😂 I am laughing at your "bitches be trippin'" 🤣 If Anthony called me Andi, I would think he was mad at me, definitely! It's always babe or baby. The amount of people at the grocery store talking on speaker phone makes me unhinged with rage 🤣🤣🤣🤣 RUDE!! I don't want to hear your whole ass conversation! And to do it in a restaurant is even more rude!!! The look is Autumnal goodness!!!! So beautiful! And I agree it is very similar to the Undergrowth palette. I will probably never watch a K-drama. I don't like historical drama and I don't like watching subtitles 😂 but I thoroughly enjoyed watching you do your makeup and listening to your in depth analysis of them 😊
You are amazing Andi! So supportive even if you could give two flips about the topic. 😂 I went to the grocery store today to drop off a Rx for Mal, and there was a guy with his phone on speaker and I heard the convo from TWO parking lot lanes over. WTH! I have heard in Korea, that it is rude to be loud on public transit...so at least they are respectful of that!
I love Kdramas, just for the simplicity and campiness of them all 😂. Although, Netflix has changed things around, a lot, and not necessarily for the best. I used to watch them on Dramafever (RIP) and Viki before Netflix took over. Delayed gratification is the name of the game in Kdramas 🤣🤣. On another note, is it just me or the Yucca palette has most if not all of the colors of the gold mini palette?
I'm going to have to look at Yucca and Mini Gold next to each other!! Yes to the delayed gratification! The angst and build up is the best!! I love to watch stuff on Viki but those dramas do keep it tame.
I don’t think is only kdrama the one with the phone problems. My mom watches a lot of soap operas Turkish and let me tell you, that phone is always ruining the moment. 😂😂😂
@@MsAlyssaJM 😂 That is too funny!!! If I called my hubby by his name he would be so confused. We also call each other “mama” and “daddy” to the dogs. So no government names in this house. 😂
@@erintaylorwrites I am currently watching Love Next Door and you can see some English-speaking actors, but yes, not very common. Also, that's a good recommendation. So far, so good.
@@boricuaflamenca I think I only have the last two episodes to watch on Love Next Door. It is cute and I love Jung Hae-in. I loved him so much in Something in the Rain.
In Queen of Tears, the couple suffers a miscarriage if i remember correctly and that's the reason why their relationship breaks down (sorry for my English it's not my native language)
@@selinnaz9775 Hey there! Thank you! I do remember the loss of the child/pregnancy in the show. And maybe it is how the culture works on grief and mental health that changed the relationship so quickly. The drama was very good over all, and I cried like a baby at the end, but it wouldn’t be one that I would want to go back and watch again. ❤️ Do you have any recommendations? Do you have a favorite drama?
@@erintaylorwrites I started to watch the drama QoT with high hopes but ended up finishing it only for the sake of Kim Soo-hyun's acting... :( Oh my God you shouldn't have asked this question to me :) I'm a sucker for Korean Dramas! but the first ones to come to my mind are Yumi's Cells, Happiness, Soundtrack #1, King the Land, Business Proposal, What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, Fight for my Way, Run On, Something about 1%, Romance is a Bonus Book, Snowdrop, Search: WWW, Something in the Rain, Descendants of the Sun, Lovestruck in the City, Strong Woman Do Bong-Soon, Love to Hate You, I'm Not a Robot, She Was Pretty, Clean with Passion for Now, Shooting Stars, Sisyphus: The Myth, Because This is My First Life, The Devil Judge, Wok of Love, Are You Human?, Pachinko, The Heirs, Once Upon A Small Town, Welcome to Samdal-ri My Fav Korean Movies: The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure, Space Sweepers, Midnight Runners

I love Yucca! And it's fun hearing about a new genre of tv!TV! And big CONGRATS on reaching your goal! I'm so proud and happy for you!

I went down a rabbit hole with looking up honorifics. I can catch them very easily now when watching a drama.

Usually, English speakers/characters in Korean dramas are Canadian or Australian, not from the US.
I've only seen a handful English speakers in Kdrama.
