Thank you SO much for this! I generally dont like to mess with settings on electronics like this but, I was so tired of only selecting between the 3 general sizes. I made it work and a few times, i did mess with the settings and felt like I just wasted tape and got no further. 😂 The main thing I have changed is using narrow margins as well. Now, I am learning more about my label maker, YEARS after I bought it. 😂 (I have a P-Touch PT-6100) Thanks again!
It's an amazing product. The cons I have experienced with it is how it wastes or has a lot of excess tape on every new print generally, and the original tapes are expensive compared to the competition Dymo. The only work around is to plan your prints ahead of time and use the "Chain Print" feature under "Margins" to reduce tape wastage. And to use Non-OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) tapes to cut costs down a bit.
On 3:15 you still lose about an inch on narrow. All that wasted tape could’ve been used. I have one and considering getting different label maker. With one cartridge I lose about 1/3 just on that
I just got mine today and I thought it was defective. The LCD display is seriously hard to read; too little contrast, too light. But I see yours looks the same. On first impression, the LCD is by far my least favorite thing about this device.
Here’s my question. Have you ever been able to get that number one to disappear after you mess with the cable setting? I haven’t so I was looking for a fix after a month of enduring it…. I hate seeing it. 😂 Came across your video looking for the answer and saw yours go there too. Any fix?
On most of their printers you can switch to chain print, that way you only loose the initial spacing once and the rest will come out in a chain with hardly any waste. Only downside to that is you have to cut the individual pieces by hand.

Can you print in white ink on the Ptouch - like white lettering?
I think so...never tried it though
I cannot get my text to be as large as yours. I have it set to large but it comes out small.
Same
I suggest doing a format reset on the device.
Then change the Font and Size for thicker characters.

I'm not sure what number one you're referring to.
Margins are egregiously big. 50% waste. The margin setting only works on the tail, but not the head?!

also wastes consumables by design. very excellent indeed, especially for the climate change of the corporations bank account
Billionaires laughing it up as fortunes are made off quarter-inch strips of label maker tape going to waste.
