Impressionnant !! Absolument superbe ! Votre travail honore Genesis.....! Et, je suppose, Genesis s'honore de votre travail ! Les mélodies éternelles de "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway", revivent avec tant de talent....! Merci Monsieur !
You come to TH-cam looking for one thing and pretty quickly you innocently stumble onto another. A man. A piano. And the Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. In its entirety. How bloody audacious! Well done, good sir. Well done. This was clearly a joy to perform and it was entirely our joy to watch it. It was real. It was Rael.
HOLY SLUBBER DEGULLIONS ON SQUEAKY FEET!! ...Your organic Lamb takes are great. Your inspired love for this music shines through..thanks for bringing it to light. Deep Genesis fans should be all OVER this, absorbing its raw beauty. Thanks again Ian for all your hard work...a nice ending as well.
In the [devastatingly sad] absence of PG, Genesis should immediately phone you up and book you for a tour sharing frontline duties with Phil. Your tribute is heartfelt and adds to the enjoyment of a towering masterpiece.
still in awe! amazing isn't a big enough word to describe what you've done sir! the only thing that could top this was 1 long video of this ok, maybe 2. alright 4.
I came across this and thought I'd listen to a little here and there. Now here I am at the end of listening to all of it! Really great job, and you certainly qualify for a tribute band. The genius of this music attests to the band's musicianship. Even though you made this 6 years ago, there will be people watching and admiring this work for years to come!
Ian, I cannot imagine the emotion and love that went into producing these videos let alone arranging the entire Lamb album for a single piano. I consider myself fortunate to come across them and hope others feel the same. The closing of the piano didn't say it all but truly was felt my this viewer that time, passion and love went into creating these, thank you for posting them, I've already shared the link(s) with others. You have done a wonderful thing here, congrats!
Once more, I completed a listen of this at work; I've been on a severed LLDOB binge for a few months and I listen to your version when I get sick of listening to the album. It actually keeps it fresh. I also started reading your written history of the Awakening (I swear I'm not obsessed with you Ian) and you mentioned being a huge fan of Brian Wilson. This got me thinking - I'd really like to see you do a project such as this one but with Pet Sounds!
+ColonelJ1 Thank you! That Pet Sounds thing could easily be done. I love that music. Thanks for watching and for taking such an interest. That means a lot. Cheers.
Thanks, Ian! The tale was great, but your performance was marvelous! And the finale with Watcher... chords made the day! We are waiting for Topographic Oceans and maybe for the whole Lamb on DVD.
wow, really.. i got no words... CONGRATULATIONS for this, you did an amazing job, i just watched the whole thing, and i noticed the "Watcher chords" as said before, that was great ;) ...... it was really nice to hear the whole album performed by you! really, it's never too much, one more time.. congratulations! hehe =)
Watched the whole thing right now. Man, your LLDOB is outstanding! Bravo! Don't know why but I have no words, I'm just full of gratitude for what you've done. So... thank you :) (PS - For the record, I actually find your ending better than the original.)
¡Aclamaciones!
It’s only Ian Tanner eloquently covering one of Rock history’s most epic accomplishments on an upright piano in his own home, but I like it.

REMOODS
Incredible and moving! I got chills when you go to the "It is real, it is Rael" part. Fantastic choice of outro as well!
wasp2020 and that concluding head bow - total humility. That's how you know this is an act of and gift of love and not ego driven "look at me."
Oh Ian, it' s so great. I wanted to hear this so much today...
thank you my friend!
still in awe!

Nice endind from another song (doesnt exclude the brilliant performance)
Thank you Sergio.
Nice job Ian,
not even Tony Banks can play those and sing at the same time.
If you think it's pretentious you'll be taken for a ride.
