Man, someone tell Cookie part of commentary is hype. He's really knowledgeable which is cool to hear but man it gets really old hearing him talk shit about the game, the players, the matchups, just everything. It's a real downer.

I'm happy that l--all things considered--can appreciate what Cookie brings. Cookie's enthusiasm is often unmatched, and their perchant for silliness amuses me. However, when commentators prioritize speaking on the negative (chastising players when they "drop combos", or speaking on what they COULD have done, but didn't), it is a turn-off. Yipes is so good at it because he speaks on what IS happening, and he doesn't use commentary as a platform to show the audience how much he knows about a game. Instead, he describes what's actually going on with his unique sense of humor. He doesnt go on & on rattling off game notation, or frame data , or game trivia. His commentary stays more "in the moment." He commentates on what is happening, and not WHAT ISN'T happening. When commentators mention, or make fun of what ISN'T happening, it sounds like they're coming from a place of ego, or insecurity. When you're speaking about what IS happening onscreen, and using that to entertain, is a more positive vibe (even when you're clowning somebody). It's a balance: I like it when deep mechanics are being noted, but there has to be some entertainment value in the delivery. Some guys spend so much time over-explaining that they end up talking OVER what is happening moment to moment, because they think what they have to say is more important than the actual gameplay. Cookie explains and entertains, but I don't think they realize it when they're negging the players and it comes off as bitterness. Personally, I don't care if "this should be enough to kill" or not. We are all about to find out in less than 5 seconds, fam. Listening to somebody speculate about "will it kill" or not, over and over, is not as impressive as commentators think it is. It doesn't add to the hype factor (especially when they're wrong lol), it sounds like an annoying nerd being a know-it-all.
Carmines gigantic buttons and decent damage feels super unfair. I see him in every tournament. Shame the game is unbalanced cause it's quite cool otherwise.
that's not even what makes carmine strong. other characters have bigger buttons and better damage. uni2 is probably the most balanced modern fighting game, so stop looking for excuses not to play it.
