BTW, got a new can of Deoxit D5 last night and it did not have that stupid always dripping nozzle they have had for years. Let's hope this was not a fluke and the stupid nozzles as a thing of the past.
With the case (lid) off the airflow won't be optimal across those 70degC heatsinks & power resistors......so probably running a tad higher than it would normally possibly. As a result, good operation of that fan is CRUCIAL I guess.
@@IanScottJohnston i just thought that if the designer knew that the transistor would get that hot he would have put a heatsink on it. the case to air thermal resistance would be quite high so not sure the air flow from the fan blowing air out of the box would cool it that much. in my mind if you can't keep a finger on it during normal operation then your over driving it. except for heaters that is 🙂

Sure get all the easy repairs Switch and fuses 😂 Good job getting it going
Excellent video. Thanks. Do you use the JBC soldering station or a clone one?
It’s a clone, I did a couple of videos about it, the Jabe UD-1200
Bit of a result right there I would say !...cheers.
Kudos.
Don't think i'd have designed something that ran at 70°C at normal operation. What must the junction temperature be at?
Yeah 70 is to hot in my book, but it's HP so maybe they have 'Reasons'......squeak !

@@andymouse old age and overworked, that's my excuse for getting hot. ;-)
Sprague iirc got et up by Vishay
Nobody wants a smokin reefer.....
