Also, the time it would have taken to open the cap would have been too much. She was going in like an assasin, banking on the element of surprise preventing him from reacting. If her hands opened the water first he would have just turned to sand immediately. Like, I don't think she was planning for 4 years to take Crocodile down. But planning for 4 years how she might escape with her life after finding the ponoglyph. She wasn't expecting another pirate crew to show up and point out Croc's weakness to himself. Nor was she expecting Croc to assume a double-cross and turn on her in an underground cavern that she couldn't readily escape. Her water-dagger thing was a last ditch, "crap. He's going to kill me." Type of plan and she had no follow-up because Croc was too fast for her to follow-up. She literally notices he moved away at the exact moment he stabs her in the back (poetically).
She seemed to be caught off guard when he decided to kill her, which makes me think that she thought that Crocodile would still want to use her after this. All she wanted was the poneglyph. I dont think she every planned to take on Crocodile, because she knew that she was no match for him, regardless of any tricks she could use.
Cobra's plan wasn't just killing Crcocdile. By collapsing the underground temple, he was primarily aiming to both bury the Poneglyph so that Crocodile can no longer access it, as well as kill himself so that Crocodile's best lead on finding out more about Pluton would also die. If he managed to take both Crocodile and Ms. All Sunday with him, that would've been a plus, but that wasn't the main goal. He was probably also trying to get Ms. All Sunday and/or Crocodile away from Vivi, or at least divide them so that if someone who could rescue Vivi came along, they'd have a better chance if only one of them were there.

Cobra probably knew he couldn’t kill crocodile. But he knew he could probably kill miss sunday with it. Killing the second in command after crocodile is a waaay bigger win than just killing yourself. With his mindset he probably thinks. If i burry the pone glyph and i can kill miss sunday someone else will eventually get crocodile. Because he has that much faith in his people and people in general.
a subtle detail i love poitning out is how crocodile's appearance gradually becomes messier and he becomes a lot more disgruntled in his expressions with each fight he has with luffy, mirroring his small breakdown over luffy continuing to jsut NOT. DIE. In his first fight he's veery calm and composed and his hair is slicked back and his outfit is perfectly put together. And then in the second luffy actually hurts him so he gets some bruises, he doesn't smile as much and he's much more openly annoyed ad his hair gets punched out of place. And then we get to this fight, where crocodile starts BLEEDING, his hair is messed up, he's covered in bruises and he's FURIOUS that luffy jsut. KEEPS. ON. COMING. BACK. I also love how his hook perfectly shows his character. not only his gaudiness and his cruetly (as its a razor sharp golden hook), but it has layers of other weapons inside it in casee anyone got past his main defences or if his usual fighting style isn't enough.

What you guys are not realizing is that there are things called simultaneous Scenes. Most of the scenes in the episode are happening at the same time. And daring flashbacks most of the time the scene is paused, Do you think the characters are just standing there while he's remembering for the entire flashback. One of the only exceptions Is when someone is telling a story about the past, Like Nojiko telling namis backstory. If you think about it that way, the timing is nowhere near as bad as you think.

there's several things to Cobra taking them to the poneglyph, one is the trap of course, the other one is that supposedly nobody can read the poneglyphs anyway so even if they got the poneglyph they wouldn't be able to read it and Cobra only learnt that Nico Robin can actually read them until the chamber was already open, on the other hand getting there gives the opportunity to bury the poneglyph as well
The canon being in the clock tower is such a fun idea, there is so much focus on the clock because of the time limit and it's used to build tension but it's also telling you exactly where it is all with just one image. Also i love when Crocodile is talking about what he took away and end with "rain?" with a different tone than the others, like he is trying to get a reaction out of Luffy or simply that he is proud that he took Alabasta's biggest resource. It's a solid stone structure Cobra only destroyed 1 pillar so obviously it's gonna take time to crack and collapse. Also Robin found out about gator because of luffy . She only had like 5 minutes to prepare.

I've always thought that (besides the unsaid threat of how Robin could basically torture him) Cobra's willingness was all for this gambit. The first thing they really ask him about is the Poneglyph, so he knows this outcome is possible from the start. Even if Crocodile doesn't die, he takes out Robin and obscures the Poneglyph from being found (if Crocodile doesn't make it in time) or recovered (if Crocodile makes it but survives).

Do you watch the filler off camera you should watch the Post-Alabasta Arc at least off camera as it gives some character development between the crew and some backstories of them yes it filler but it stays in continuity to the series and the characters motivations

lets be honest here, this isn't true but just accepted because no one would have any cloths and its too much for the author to incorporate a reason why cloths don't get damaged by fruit users because then anything they touch should take on those properties. Thats why I read colored manga first lol . I had heard pacing was bad and too much episodes but I had no problem in reading 983chapters (at that time). I can move at my own pace, admire art style, think more deeply about a scene , and check back if I want to refer a chapter on the spot. These options are difficult when you watch anime one piece. After I read manga all the way till roofpiece started (1000th chapter), I watched my fav scenes in anime. And do you know what my first impression of anime was? "THANK GOD I READ MANGA AND DIDNT WATCH ANIME" people hate punk hazard and dressrosa and WCI for pacing reasons? These are my fav arcs lol because I read them in manga at my own pace. Thats the benefit of reading manga.
Do you remember that Zoro was quiet good at navigating in the East Blue? He never got lost. A funny Theory goes that his Cursed Kitetsu he picked up in Loguetown is the reason he lost his sense for Direction. That it is the Curse. 😁

Like you lose the emotional building beind it. And it is truly not understandable I have watched One piece many times from the start and I was lost watching One pace. Maybe because it mixes parts from future chapters in only one chaptera, it really is horrible at least personally I couldn't watch it at all. You can reduce the slowly buildup by watching at double speed and even jumping the filler chapters.

It's a pretty simplistic and basic of all basics explanation that is consistent throughout the show and has been since the very start, and one that the author has also confirmed. At this point arguing against that is just pure cope and desperation to not admit to being wrong over an issue that people decided to overanalyze the crap out of to try and put themselves above other fans as "loremasters".

Its never going to canon as its never implied clothes take on the property of DF users. ODA states it in the SBS and not the manga to avoid it being debated on as it would create too many plot holes why? because awakened fruit users effect the properties of their environment. Unfortunately we never meet Mr 6, Miss Mother's Day, Mr 10, Miss Tuesday, Miss Thursday, Mr 12, and Miss Saturday. Maybe the live action will have them as they did show the first Mr 7.
I highly doubt it. Pretty sure there will be even less agents shown overall, cause of money and time restraints.

You think the pacing is bad now, wait until you get to the Dressrosa arc. It took me three years to willingly go back to watching the anime at that point.
@@KnoxEsque85 Their discussions, consistent posting and multiple videos a week are actually making it barrable. I tried binging some arcs (especially Dressrosa) and it actually made it worse. I need the breaks but not so many that I might as well watch the actual episodes. For example, I love Blind Wave but if they watched One Piece it would be 1 episode a week and it would be a nightmare.
@@KnoxEsque85 It's because I've read the manga that the pacing kills me. Before I caught up with the manga before the Dressrosa arc the pacing never bothered me but now the pacing bugs me even in arcs I previously enjoyed like Alabasta and Skypiea.

One piece is the anime with the worst pacing I've ever seen apart from DB Z. Nothing beats DB Z's ultra sluggish pacing

I had heard pacing was bad and too much episodes but I had no problem in reading 983chapters (at that time).
I can move at my own pace, admire art style, think more deeply about a scene , and check back if I want to refer a chapter on the spot.
These options are difficult when you watch anime one piece.
After I read manga all the way till roofpiece started (1000th chapter), I watched my fav scenes in anime.
And do you know what my first impression of anime was?
"THANK GOD I READ MANGA AND DIDNT WATCH ANIME"

@@plantitasp how? It literally removes the dogshit pacing of the anime which is what makes the show unwatchable in later arcs. If the show was well paced we wouldnt be anywhere near 1000 eps

@@mint437 i saw other reactors doing it and the fast pace just takes the narrative away is like reading a post with a lot of spoilers giving little context to it. Like you lose the emotional building beind it. And it is truly not understandable I have watched One piece many times from the start and I was lost watching One pace. Maybe because it mixes parts from future chapters in only one chaptera, it really is horrible at least personally I couldn't watch it at all. You can reduce the slowly buildup by watching at double speed and even jumping the filler chapters.

One pace was created specifically to remove all the bloat of the original show so people can actually catch up without needing to watch a full episode for half a manga chapter. Of course its not perfect but it is infinitely better than having to watch something like luffy fighting a certain desert man for 20+ episodes
I hope the next arc of One Piece will not disappoint you, the next Skypiea saga is a boring and passable arc for me, but after it one of the best sagas in One Piece will begin. please keep watching and this summer we will watch the best one piece saga
