Something interesting what Bisi said about E85. He said "for a unit of air burned, E85 has a higher caloric content, which means more heat". However, the stoichiometric ratio for E85 is lower than gasoline, so you burn more fuel because it has a lower BTU per gallon. Gas is ~114kbtu and E85 is ~81.8kbtu per gallon. Usually this would mean "less power", but he's saying that for a cubic foot of **air**, E85 will produce more calories, or more heat than Gas. E85 has a stoichiometric ratio of 9.86:1 and Gas is 14.7:1. At stoich, E85 requires 1.49 times as much fuel as Gas, which works out to ~122kbtu vs ~114kbtu. So there is more energy in E85 at stoich than Gasoline at stoich. Why is this interesting? Because your engine has a fixed flow rate in lbs of air per hour due to port design, volume, and other design factors (we're not talking about boost) -- in effect, your engine is making more HP per CFM of air consumed.
EFormance Engineering My goal has always been to make science understandable for the masses. What I did is the easiest way to explain stochiometry in relation to more heat/power....using a fixed air consumption. As an engineer, I want to help everyone learn....not just talk to my peers or in terms many could not understand.
Thanks guys for making me feel at home even at hospital 6 months when I was away from my hobby to be frank my life blood and I trurly owe you guys Thanks for real
Watching Hoonigan evertime makes me realize how small and simple parts have huge impact on the over-all performance of a car... Hoonigan videos are always informative and educational... i love your videos
Do more with Bisi!!! He is awesome love his passion and the way he takes the time to explain things and do things the right way. He is awesome keep it up!!!!
I thought bis was just a guy with to much money but its obviously he has true passion and knowledge. Plus just helping a fellow gearhead out is what it's all about.
He tunes with the same discipline as my tuner did... not all about the numbers, but the total package. Ultimately equals an amazing driving experience 24/7, 91/e85! Awesome
Awesome......I enjoy the more detailed, mature content, offered lately. Dont get me wrong. I love the shenanigans. Hoon or die. But, nice job developing the new shows and formats and sub channels. Go big or go home. High fives guys.
If ever i could challenge Bisi to "sell me this pen" I'd end up buying a i-pen. + an ipad to go with it. This dude. If he tells you what you need. You get it.
That guy on the Haltech channel who was an expert apparently about JZ engines said he preferred the 1J to the 2J at least on a per liter basis he says they are better designed. Yamaha did the 1J and had less input on the 2J. Yamaha made many of the best car engines of all time and for some reason nobody knows. The LFA, 1JZ, several others I'm forgetting atm
@@airizonaforu Thank you. the SHO is a fun motor. It's so weird to me that one of the best engine makers in the world is 1: Relatively unkown for what they do and 2: A company that makes great car engines but no cars?
sirgallium - you idiot, how can you forget the 2ZZ Celica / Lotus Elise 1.8L Engine Yamaha and Toyota did together? It’s the Honda B Series fighter. I agree though that Yamaha has skills.
@@I_know_what_im_talking_about I didn't include the 2J because apparently Toyota messed with the original Yamaha design more and made it a little bit worse.
sirgallium not really. The 2jz head flows better, if anything, the bottom end is a little worse because the rods are a little longer and less beefy. That combined with the longer stroke limits the rpm a 2jz can safely rev to vs a 1jz. Besides that, the engines are VERY similar. And the reason they are some of the best engine manufacturers is because they make motorcycle engines... they don’t need to make cars to be a good engine builder
3 dyno runs for the crappy snowy day here in Canada. Ruby makes 766 hp, Brent at PFI makes 600 ish with a 4 banger , and Vin comes in last at 500 NO SHAME . Ruby a junk yard motor with new rings and good heads, PFI pistons and rods with shit DA . Vin with a off the shelf used motor and cams. TURBO LIFE RULES . What a world we live in now . thermal efficiency of all 3 motors is up more than 150% -200% . I wonder with a hyper mileage driving if these 3 couldn't get 55 mpg or more ? You first Vinny
I was like "Wait a minute, where do I know this guy from?" Then they flashed a shot of the mini van and it all made sense. That netflix show "Fastest Car" was my first introduction to him.
Bisi is not only a legend, but a damn genious when it comes to cars. Like I've watched a ton of Cleetus McFarland's videos and his tuner Jeremy is awesome, but Bisi just is so much more detail oriented and down and dirty when it comes to tuning. Granted we are talking about V8 vs Import tuning so that could also have an effect because to my knowledge Jeremy isn't really a Import tuner he mostly only does V8's
Your comparison is irrelevant. Just because Jeremy doesn't explain every little detail to what/ how he's tuning doesn't mean he's less detailed in the what he thinks or does things. Also just because Jeremy doesn't necessarily shows that he tunes imports doesn't mean he doesn't know how. All tuners just have thier preferences that's all.
@@clutchkickpj693 Okay, first off I never said anything bad about Jeremy. I like Jeremy, I just said he mostly does V8's not so much imports. Second, I get that maybe Jeremy and Cleetus' channels don't show everything Jeremy does. Third, I don't give a damn about your opinion. You have no right to come at me calling my comparison irrelevant when I wasn't making a damn comparison at all, it was an observation. Both Jeremy and Bisi have been tuners for a long time and their both equally great at what they do. I just like how much detail Bisi goes into when he tunes. I'm so very sorry that your opinion and mine differ, no wait I'm not sorry because their FUCKING OPINIONS.
When you see two very detailed oriented professionals tuning a car. 👀😲😲😲. 513HP and people say, why build a car with old technology. People who have paid for it Toyota!!!
The inline 6 is inherently strong. Be it a ford 300 6, nissan rb, toyota jz, AMC 4.0... they're all balanced by design, no balancing shafts. Their simplicity also adds to their robust nature. Also most i6's i can think of came with iron blocks.
BEFORE WATCHING! How much power do you think Vin made?
385
4xx
520
555
666
420hp, 69ftlbs of torque
Bisi is such a legend. Love his passion
Bisi is an amazing dude forsure.
And he has a fabulous fleet of cars
His sleeper van is amazing
Bisi rules.
His Build's are so clean and attention to detail is top notch. Goals have a bisi build in my garage.
Vin got his car tuned by Bisimoto.....you lucky lucky man
The luckiest.
That needed a real tuner to hold his hand.
69th like 😎
Tony Ngo you talking trash on bisi? The dude knows his shit hardcore... has built and tuned hundreds of cars above 1000hp
Tony Ngo he's done a 1000 hp mini van bro....foh
Watching this on my phone, and hot wheels 50th on TV. Bisimoto is everywhere... Mind blown. Never heard of the guy till today and he's on two screens
Bisi is a legend.
Hoonigan Project Cars how much does Bisi charge for a dyno tune like that?
im guessing....somewhere between, 1hp and 1000hp
Nailed it.
I mean you weren't wrong. Could be more right. But not wrong
Between 1 & 1k is 500 so I guess you're only 13 ponies off.
Hey fuck
Very safe answer there man

Bruh, I love watching Bisi work and explain everything to simple terms. As an engineer, I can tell you not many people have that talent.
Where are the frosted tips ?
There’s a good chance it’s only a few days away...
Seth Davis that’s really insensitive, vin lost his hair, so he can’t frost his tips

Oh, and we have just gotten started!
Bisi is such a legend! Gotta love him. I dont know how often i watched the "the drive" video on his 1000hp twin turbo 911.
watching the graphs / peak torque reading tick up is surprisingly satisfying
Vin- I wanna be able to drive it on the street

Don't drive like an idiot and you wont have an issue.
Hoonigan Project Cars 🤷♂️ fair enough lol.
Love the way how bisi explains everything, makes it easy for us (who are new to cars) to understand
Damn we get Vin and The Bis in the same video :) Sweet cakes!
Blessed with the Bisi!

When should we expect some Hert/Vin tandems?
Sooooooon!
somewhere between when Vin finishes the s13 & when Hert breaks the FC...
Vin hert and dan!

Bisi and Ryan together.....could tune a moped to drag ass. Such humble and sick dudes with magic tuning fingers
Bisi is the man that is the best most explicate tune I've ever seen... Very nice!
We've been lucky to have Bisi on The Smoking Tire podcast twice, and I always shut up and try to learn as much as possible. He's such a good teacher.
Dang I love Bisi. What a resource and fella with whom you want to be!
Watching engineers think and talk over the gate was something else... You know both of them were full science mode in that moment...

Watching Bisi tune that car was inspiring and awesome!!!
Trac sweep looks like a s2000 cluster- kewl!!!! Love the update Vin, aye dare aye Bizzzzzzzzzzzi!!!

I could listen to Bisi talk about tuning all day
Thanks for showing us BiSi. So much love to the mad tuner all the way from India. ♥️♥️
this thing is way to nice for shreding...nice build, vin
Still gonna send it!
I wanna see more of this car....
Congratulations on those numbers. Great job guys (everyone involved).
I was guessing not that much, but then I saw it was Bisi, that guy is an awesome tuner
My guess is anywhere between 69-420 horse puppies, depending on whether or not Vin frosts his tips
If only it made 69 horsepower.
Horse puppies*
Honestley the best dressed tuner ive ever seen and his cars are mint love the mini van he did 10/10
I always had a feeling that Vin is Scotto's favorite employee.
Bisi is back!!!!! Straight up horsepower god that man is
Damn, that sound.
One of the best sounds ever.
So gudddd
bisi is such a savage i always get pumped when i see him on here
If ever i could challenge Bisi to "sell me this pen"

Nice!! Coming together nicely going to be a beast
That is a super nice green utility jug you have there.
Excellent content. Tuning can be a mystery & this video shows the time it takes to get it right.
Bisi is the man. Bro looks like he just walked off the GQ photo shoot.
More Bisi on the channel love him
Nice clean build you did there . Im en route still way off thks for the inspiration.
Hell yeah, bisi ❤.
