    I know how it feels to be in a hurricane. I live in New York and we were completely demolished by Sandy 10-27-2012. It was the most frightening situation I've ever dealt with. We were in a community on Staten Island that the red cross didn't even care if we froze or died. Thank God we all stuck together as a family and got through the rough stuff. My neighbor opened his home to be our ground zero. I can't find words to speak on this.. God bless you all. Stay safe. Material stuff can be replaced but your life or loved ones can not be.😢🥺

    • @hebneh
      @hebneh ปีที่แล้ว

      Since they were submerged in salt water, the damage will be greater than from fresh water - so they probably won't be as easy to clean up and sell.

    What a nightmare. I understand nothing could be done about the property damage - although can hardly be a surprise to people who decide to build right up against the ocean, feet above sea level - But there is no excuse for the cars being destroyed. Newsflash, cars are extremely mobile. These people are wealthy, if they didn’t want to drive them away they could’ve hired a transport company and shipped them inland. Porsches and a Bentley destroyed! And we all pay in higher insurance premiums. Adding absurdity to tragedy.

Hurricanes are sever as these pictures show and its heart breaking. My question is so many luxury cars left in the path of this Hurricane? Where people not warned?

    Now that some days have passed, the damage to the vegetation is very evident. I wonder how many of these trees and shrubs have been killed from being immersed in salt water? Certainly the coconuts and palmettos can withstand that without damage, and I assume most of the other palms can as well.

      About half of the people who live in Naples only live there for part of the year. It's a feature of our population. Especially the people who own houses on the beach and water, they don't actually live in SWFL most of the year. We call them Snowbirds. They come down for the Winter and fly back North after Easter. And a lot of what you are seeing here is in ultra rich areas, so those people don't even live there half the year, it's just their vacation porsche/mansion. I am curious how those people are dealing with the immediate clean up. I know a lot of people are flying down to see the damage to their properties and start clean up, but clearly many are not.

      Liberty Mutual is the WORST! when Hurricane Sandy came thru here in Allentown Pennsylvania we lost our roof over our bathroom it rained inside and came right thru the ceiling into our kitchen. The adjuster came said oh well your roof is old so here is 2300.00 after 20 years of paying premiums to those ppl. We no longer have them. Insurance is a big money laundering scheme anyway.

    It looks like so much of the vegetation is dying too from all the saltwater exposure. A lot of those trees look like they’re as good as dead. It really should be illegal to resell any car exposed to all that saltwater! Once you get saltwater in the engine block the car will never run the same again. Beware if you’re buying a used car in the coming months, because it could be a flooded lemon of a car. Again, I strongly believe that laws need to be passed against reselling flooded cars, especially if the damage is undisclosed to the buyer.
