Here's an alternate perspective - Secutor was the worst tactic we've ever had due to the combination of small effective attacking pool and ban system, as well as AI funniness and power gain nonsense. While some slept on attackers were really good, very few players consider ranking champs they don't like solely for war attack. Your perspective on Decay being easy may be valid from the position of a masters level war planner, but I assure you it's a breath of fresh air for all but the top 500 players in the game.
@ChuckD05 Yea this is exactly it. It means 1 death will more than likely change the entire season for masters etc. Anyone who's not in the top top brackets for AW it's a relief lol
People rank up champs for every mode; Bgs, Everest modes, even AQ or Raids. That’s how the game works; war is no different. As bad of an attacker pool as Secutor was, anyone who complains about not wanting to rank up champs for tactic is either too low in ranking for those bans and nodes to matter or too uninvested in war to really care. This game is all about picking your fun, but the only ones who suffer in this AW season are the actual War enjoyers.
I think Secutor's best quality was encouraging champs who normally do not shine anywhere. Take Cassie and Ultron, who get to shine for once. Just because they aren't BGs champs does not mean they are bad, and Secutor helped show that
Idk I really loved secutor as a tactic as I never ranked up the traditionally "meta" champs. This made it so my favourite champion in the game, anti-venom actually work well. But also made war very repetitive as no one in my battlegroup had an incinerate/poison immune tactic champ so I ended up taking the same path for 12 wars straight. Overall as a tactic, it was really enjoyable for me but in terms of champion pool they could've expanded it better
It’s a holidays tactic the way I see it, for everyone to take it a lot easier than being stressful during this time of the year and I thank Kabam for that

Hey Mr Grass, first I want to thank you for sharing your opinion and giving your view about this tactic from a T1 war planner. I am a T2 war planner myself and I still agree with everything you said in this video. The game mode is basically on a hold with this tactic and for a lower tier alliance we can look at it in a way of people dying more this meta.. they get the boot because they just lack skill. But if you're playing T1 you already know that 95% of the players are good players. It's sad that the game mode is on a hold now because for you and me it's fun to organize defense and offense. The harder tactic's really make our job fun and challenging but now it's just: yeah guys use these 5-6champs and watch out for 3things and we can clean the map with like 5-6deaths... I completely understand that most people like this tactic and for the holidays etc. It's just less fun for players like us that are basically the back bone of the alliance. The fact that you have this feeling about this tactic shows that you really like the game mode and I respect you for it! Thanks for being a war planner and I hope you have more fun with it after this tactic.
Yes pls do the ranking the war tactics you’ve played for T1 war! Would be very interesting comparing the perspective of yourself to someone who doesn’t play high tier war / not war very much either
I think I’d enjoy this meta cause I love my spidey 2099 and anti-venom and have both ranked up but I understand where you’re coming from in where strategy is basically non-existent
Enchantress with her "Opponents cannot reduce the power gain below 50%" with provocator tactic is bullshit. If new champion designes became like this we don't need a hard meta's. So it's good
(ESSAY WARNING) I think secutor was great for the top alliances because it separated the good from the very best. It had a unique champion pool that meant it wasn't the same champions over and over and you had to plan fights and address the kits of some very complex defenders which is great from a strategic point of view in high level war but on the other hand alliances like mine where we struggle with 1) champion acquisition (super important with bans) 2) Champion rank ups and 3) Playing unboosted I found the meta to be genuinely the worst in recent history. First the recent approach kabam has to defenders has made high level war and battleground really inaccessible to the greater playerbase. Defenders like serpent and enchantress are extremely restrictive and it's far easier to rank these powerful defenders than to rank all the appropriate attackers especially when you consider banning of effective champions. This made the nodes feel heavily defender sided which again is great for strategy but not for the average player. The champ pool this season sucked. Secutor has champions that can't even reliably get debuffs or just aren't offensively solid champs like rocket racoon, yondu, shocker, sentinel, Doc-oc, (deathless she hulk who doesn't appear to have decay so we won't even get to use her for the upcoming war meta let alone the secutor meta) Jessica jones and iHulk which are supposed to access the offensive node how exactly? It's poor design from kabam because now I'm forced to rank up champs who won't get banned but this is the hand I get dealt. While there are many other solid champs who do work with the node it's become a trend to put new champs in the pool which really put pressure on where your rank ups go. Even with a diverse pool of attackers many accounts struggle to acquire the effective characters because champion acquisition for modern champs has become more and more connected with how much you are willing spend. The same applies to rank up materials which are becoming easier to access but are still so hard to get without spending. This has been an ongoing issue and there isn't any resolution but when you stack an awful war and bg's meta I begin to feel my decision not to spend is heavily implied to be a bad one. Finally war is significantly more approachable when you can afford to play boosted. The enchantress fight for war you showcased (very impressive I might add) on the boss node is only realistically solo-able when you have an invulnerability boost. It's made far more solo-able when you can afford to go fully attack/health/both boosted and bring class power boosts as well. This is something most players don't have the luxury of. Our alliance and every alliance (yes every alliance) we went against in low/mid platinum (top 500 alliances) were regularly dropping 150+ deaths a war (pretty much a 1 fight to 1 death ratio) with this meta in place and you could say it's poor planning but war never used to be like this. the dot shinanigans is so silly, i’ve been p9 for almost a year now and people may disagree but it’s consistently one of the hardest paths most tactics but it’s an absolute joke, i am solo every single fight with almost anyone in the attack tactic pool i don’t like that it’s a solo every time i like p9 because it’s hard but now it’s not
imo photon is top 5 war champ and she’s tactic as well she’s so silly, i like cassie in tactic just because i think she’s great but she’s TOO good with this tactic it’s pretty dumb
i like these other tactics because there are other options outside of tactic attackers like last season there was photon and onslaught both did great, but why would u with this one? just use cassie? banned use photon also banned use hulk also banned use knull the list goes on and on
The war is shortened starting after Thanksgiving and ending before the holidays. So you whining because people will have good options for attackers during the season. Also whining because you can’t think of good skill defenders to counter all the science attackers. Whining about things that doesn’t affect 97% of the player base. You know this tactic was voted on right?
I don't know why you're telling me that I am not most of the playerbase when i said it myself in the very early portion of the video. I already explained that I was a diehard war player, and that is where my opinions originate from. I am not talking from the rest of the playerbase because i am not in that playerbase. Do you want me to advocate for a group I am not part of? Disregard all I am saying then, because at the end of the day my opinions don't mean anything. Just don't say the perspective I am coming from is very different and upholds different values, when I myself said it for you.

Lets be real the last few metas were brutal nobody liked them not even GT40 did war last season Decay is a cool easy meta i dont understand why grass is so Salty lol 😅
@@faustoutloud I genuinely am the polar opposite of the Secutor hate trains so idk
Get your points and see where you’re coming from. Personally, I like easy tactics cuz Kabam has so much BS that’s it’s refreshing to have one where I don’t have to think as much
the dot shinanigans is so silly, i’ve been p9 for almost a year now and people may disagree but it’s consistently one of the hardest paths most tactics but it’s an absolute joke, i am solo every single fight with almost anyone in the attack tactic pool i don’t like that it’s a solo every time i like p9 because it’s hard but now it’s not
and i understand it becomes not hard with the right champs but some matchups make it pretty difficult
imo photon is top 5 war champ and she’s tactic as well she’s so silly, i like cassie in tactic just because i think she’s great but she’s TOO good with this tactic it’s pretty dumb
i like these other tactics because there are other options outside of tactic attackers like last season there was photon and onslaught both did great, but why would u with this one? just use cassie? banned use photon also banned use hulk also banned use knull the list goes on and on
U better not die in a tactic fight this season cuz is gonna be fun af 😅
I think Secutor an Provocatear are the worst tactics in my Opinion but I can see where your coming from.
14:10 also invalidated path 3 in section 2 (fant)
I took 21 fant with knull without any issue in 40 seconds
Sec u tor’. Accent on the 3rd syllable. Win gardium levio’ sa
my gyoat
Agreed.
I just love Decay ... You decay champ to cheese Path 9 hazard shit nodes
Cheese is exactly what should never be in a war setting
@@GrassHeartsDazzleryou should have taken path 9 in previous meta . Wouldn't have made this video I am pretty sure.
@ if you checked any war I did the last two seasons, you’ll see I took 9b quite a bit
Full time yapper
@@DanielFrazatto Glad the “rage bait” worked on you
@GrassHeartsAmora what the part you kept yapping about how much stuff you have to do is a rage bait ? , cause I could care less about the meta
