the castle positioning part of the guide is off the board. True that ideally you wanna have the least possibile entrances to your plot of land, but you're missing 2 key points. 1st one is that you can jump off the cliffs. So it doesn't really matter if the dude with the castle to the left walled of these entrances, because people can jump in from the cliffs you can see to the west. 2nd point that is not mentioned at ALL in your guide and that is VERY important: as soon as you put down your castle heart, you should secure the borders around it in a way to prevent any other player to wall your castle off. This is happening to a lot of players who were not aware of the possibility, and this is the real tip that needs to be spread to new players. Ideally, what you want to do is to build on TOP of a cliff and immiediately secure borders leading to all of its entrances so that you can wall them, effectively making sure no one can ever deny you access to your own property and even preventing anyone from accessing the cliff at all without a proper dedicated effort.
This happened to me, right now I'm just having to say goodbye to my castle and resources. Luckily I'm not too far into the game but I will definitely be focusing on securing my borders for my next build!
I went to do this at first, but then realised I ran out of blue squares and i had to reign it in. initially I just built out to the two ways into the area and walled them off. Then I couldn't build my castle though as didn't have enough blue squares. I had to just use one way in as my entrance and ignore the 2nd for now. Now I have upgraded my heart I will go and wall off the 2nd way in though... TBH it doesn't matter for me as playing solo, but still good to practice this stuff as I will be going into PvP eventually. I jst want to learn the game first.
The game is extremely addictive and fun. I am struggling to focus on getting my work done so I can go play. The combat is fun, bosses are hard but rewarding. The game is very polished for an early access. I hope they continue with this in the future with new continents and more castles you can build. I really hate when you have a piece of land and people need to open up shop next to you. These devs are on their way to making a fantastic game but one thing the game desperately needs is setting more than one personal marker on the map.
I’m just playing it organically and not really focusing on rushing through it like most players. I’m quite enjoying the game. I’m in a pvp server. So, it’s little more intense than PvE obviously. But I’m enjoying it.

One of the first things you say is having to build a castle as soon as you complete the tutorial. Just watched DemoneKim's video and he mention it is really important NOT to build a castle as soon as you start... great
Yeah I have watched both and am confused. Build early or build later? Both has its advantages and cons. The question I have is can you survive to build later? I been trying but dying a lot to higher mobs and sunlight. The game is also a time sink as well so that's a problem when you are new and trying to figure things out. If you play solo and can only devote a hour or two a day to gaming this can be a draw back.
DK, as much as I love his content, is simply wrong on this front. Building earlier (finding a young server to play on when you start) is pretty essential. As someone who's experienced a large portion of the game, my advice is to build as soon as you can, build things you need to become stronger, focus on killing bosses to unlock workbenches. (crossbow is awesome if group PvPing for the ability, can often nuke whole teams before a fight breaks out) This isn't a permanent castle, but without it you're losing progression speed, and in PvP that's essential.
Whoever DemoneKim is their advice is wrong on so many levels...find a great spot (gather as you are looking) and get that castle up...your castle is ESSENTIAL because you need to have your storage ready, you dont get to carry a shit ton of resources so you need your storage and you also need that roof. Ive become pretty good with keeping out of the sunlight but being able to craft while daylight helps a lot.
At first I was "hmm" about this game, but looking at people playing it both live and on YT it grew on me. And it dosnt cost that much for a pretty solid game! I think this video was spot on! Really awesome pointers. Thank you dude. You are an awesome creator
Few people know that you can actually teleport out with your horse. I was actually "beating myself" a bit for doing the obviously noob thing early on & putting my castle down pretty much right outside the eastern entrance basicly right next to the portal. Then went online & all the guides was like "put you castle in the middel next to resources so you dont have to travel". But now im super happy as i can teleport everywhere super fast. And yes the travel time home afterwards is longer early on but once you get a horse no big deal. Had i put down a castle in the middel i would have been forced to leg it just to get to a portal too.
I went to the copper mine with just my bone weapons. It's totally doable, you just have to be careful not to get rushed by like 3 pods at once or something. I camped right next to the mine in the farm area above (along the bottom, in the middle) as for my first go I wanted to have access to the starting area, without actually having my set up in it. I was going to go closer to the left for that area over there I heard about, but I started on the right without knowing any info, so settled for this spot next to the cursed mines. It's only a Solo game though so could have went anywhere really, but didn't fancy going to camp in an area way stronger than I was at the start, so stopping in the farmlands seemed most sensible. Regarding the bonuses from room, a lot of machines need their own rooms though right? I imagine some can go in the same room though.

I've been playing solo on a pvp server and it's still enjoyable. Only getting gangbanged by clans occasionally... Most people won't even attack you unprovoked. I also built my first castle in a really bad spot out in the open so I guess it's only a matter of time until someone destroys it. Problem is I spent ages getting the stone walls finished before realising it was a terrible idea, now I would have to destroy my own base and start from scratch if I want to move lol... Would be cool if they had a 20 minute window to start creating a 2nd castle before getting rid of the previous one... I guess I'll just focus on upgrading gear until the inevitable raid happens, no point wasting time and resources expanding when it's already doomed.

Everything you mentioned is basically the start of the tutorial lmao.
"Bray-zee-er", what you are saying is the correct name of a bra.
Mist brassiere
everything every single source in this game is neccessary nothing is uesless!!! BONE BONE BONE -__-
They said " DEVS" it has offline solo. from what I gather it does not. online only.
If the devs are wrong about something do they become "DEVS" in your book? Like they are less of a developer or something?
There's an option to make your own game and mark it as solo play right in the menu. Do some digging before you type fast at people.
another tip - don't count on in-game tutorials to make any sense
yeah controller support is keeping me from buying it right now
Bray-zhure. Your pronunciation is for brassiere, the piece of lady's undergarments.
lol the most useless tips. just the natural flow/progression of the game is listed here. if you follow the prompts for quests in-game you're basically following this guide 95%
How cringy that your “guide” is effectively just how the game prompts you to play anyway..
Game is mixed on steam right now and all the negative reviews are total b.s.
I mean yeah pretty much... although the amount of people already camping the wolf boss to ambush newer players wanting to complete the quest is pretty gross
@@midas6753 yeah thats unfortunate buy they can always play pve
@@Garflog643 true true
This game is hyped
@@Xyz-cr2sg being hyped is ok overhyped can be an issue which I dont believe it is. There are some issues but its day 1 of early access. There are alot of invalid negative reviews. I am happy to see it a mostly positive now.
2022 pvp game with wasd instead of mouse controls:)) dead in 3 weeks
Mouse click movement is the WORST. WASD has Always been the PC movement standard. That's common knowledge.
Lmao mouse control is how you kill a game.
Shut up random
thanks for wasting everyone's time. ffs
Dude the video is over a year old, and a lot of these tips are not optimal for the current state of the game
I have difficulty with placing mills, i think i placed my floor wrong?
