- Hi Flower Friends! It's Nicole from Flower Hill Farm- today we hear from Sunflower Steve and the company he is working with to bring his amazing double sunflowers to market- FLORET! Floret made the announcement earlier this week that she is working with Sunflower Steve to help increase the stock of the the sunflower seeds and eventually bring them to market!

Hi there all of Nicole's flower friends. I just wanted to drop a quick note, since once the cut sunflowers start, my time is going to be limited for any social media. I really am overwhelmed by the well wishes and enthusiasm from you all about my partnership with Erin at Floret. Thank you so very much. Having control and input over the seeds sold and marketed by another company is unheard of in the industry. In our first conversation Erin said to me "Just tell me what you want us to do, I just want to help you share these with the world!" She wanted to help me, not me help a seed company make money. And she was genuinely interested in bringing these to the flower world for the sake of people being able to experience their beauty first and foremost. We didn't even talk compensation until after several conversations. It was all about how to increase production and distribution. Like I said, it was genuine and organic, not industrial business at all.

This is huge! I live in the UK and in my world the BBC should report this as headline news! I can’t tell you happy I am that these sunflowers are not going to fall into the hands of some large corporation whose sole mission is to make money for their shareholders. That’s not what growing cut flowers is about in my view. I think Steve will sleep easier now in the knowledge he has done the right thing. The fact that we are all a bit tearful shows that we are all committed to the journey you have taken us on Nicole and I thank you for that.
