I think we all need to give this selection a few listens, right? There's a lot of, oh nice, oh cool, but nothing oh yess that's it. As there is no, OMG that's horrendous either. Chica sounds like Nebulossa's long lost daughter... J KBello caught my attention on first listen, but then I made the mistake of looking at the lyrics. Ugh. But it's still a good tune. I have read elsewhere that delivering a good live performance should be no problem for him (as if the Internet actually knows anything about such things...). Melody was interesting. I appreciated the guitar interspersed in the song saved it from being completely generic. But for me, I'm pretty disappointed with the selection.
Yeah Graig, J Kbello's lyrics are not the best 🙉🙊😂😂😂. He is good live, I can assure you that though. And I share your disappointment😥. None is really bad, but no outstanding wowers either. I hope we'll change our minds after the lives🤞.

The thing with Benidorm Fest is that you really have to wait for the live shows to draw any conclusions. Multiple fan faves turned out be letdowns live, while others like Chanel and Nebulosa, who were flying under the radar, turned out to be best overall packages.

I love that benidorm fest has so many upbeat boppy songs this year, I am shocked that kingdom is your no.1, this is a song that sounds like it's made for Shane haha
Lachispa is my #1. Besame and VIP are decent choices that will do solidly with the right choreo but they don't have that winner uniqueness to me despite being catchy. Lachispa's song to me is so dramatic, interesting, soulful and has such impact. I have faith Lachispa will deliver because she was a backup singer for Rosalia. Can't wait to see the live interpretation and hope she lives up to the hype. I also appreciate La Pena and I'm a Queen because they both have that playful, experimental mix to them as well, though I don't think they will be chosen. Still I like their creativity. And while I know slow Spanish ballads aren't super competitive choices, I also love all my sad boy songs in this year's lineup particularly Lucas's dedication to his mom. It is so beautiful. Personally while K!ngdom's song is a fun summer/weekend bop I think it would will get lost in the esc mix because it kind of sounds generic along with Daniela's uhnana. Good for radio but not particularly competitive. But that's just my opinion. 🙂

Just for example from my perspective K!ngdom yes the song is generic but don’t you think something like this , easy to the ear, easy to learn and catchy could be good for people who vote in Eurovision. About la chispa , the song is a masterpiece but I need to see it executed on stage , it needs to be staged in order to say if it’s that of a big hit or not. VIP the same. @georgikanevESC While easy to listen is good for commercial success, for ESC there's going to be a lot of people who just watched the night of so a song that stands out usually fare better strategically imo. But yes, I agree with all the songs it also depends on staging. And for Benidorm, studio cuts always sound sleek but opinions can flip drastically with the live performances.
