I've watched his channel and another jeweler's channel. The difference is Bobby truly does his work by hand. The other channel used various machines for crafting and cutting. Bobby is a true artisan.

Real craftsmanship consists in building from scratch. Casting these pieces and then solder them together would save a lot of time, but it would take the authenticity away from the finished work.

Hey Bobby! As a fellow goldsmith of 30 years, I quickly noticed you don't seem to be using any eye protection when soldering platinum, much as I didactic couple decades earlier in my career. I ended up having " silent migraines" in my peripheral vision. Fortunately, they subsided several months later, but taught me a lesson in eye protection when soldering and casting high temp metals. Protect your eyes, they are more valuable to your long term career than the pieces you produce!

You seem to be very young to have mastered what I can only imagine that takes years of practice and knowledge to create the pieces that you do. Of course your imagination is purely you and that can not be taught, but to merge the 2 together is honestly very impressive. I have noticed that the most light is reflected when diamonds are cut in the modern diamond shape. That's the purpose of diamonds, to reflect the most light
a round diamond has more facets than a baguette diamond, this creates more sparkle because more light refraction is taking place. A typical round cut diamond will have 58 facets while a baguette only has 14.

Bobby, do you always set the stones in your jewelry? Is there ever a piece that you feel would be better left to the setters? I recall seeing a video where you sent a piece (I believe it was a ring) off. I imagine you have become much more skilled at setting since then...just wondering if you do all of that yourself. Love your work. It's amazing to see a "Maestro" at such a young age.
