    I saw an F22 Raptor doing the vertical walk and then shot straight up into the air just like this at an air show a few years ago. That was insane, but to have this kind of control from an RC jet is an astonishing level of skill.

    How are you working throttle management in order to hold the plane vertical and doing high alpha. And then coming out each maneuvers.
    I've done some of those maneuvers with a EDF mirage, but with a turbine I'm sure it's much different due to the lag time with turbines.
    Just started flying turbine late last year also like flying delta wings. It's going to be a while before I get to that level with a turbine.
    Are you able to make a video showing stick control while flying the J-10?

    I understand that you built it lightweight for the best handling, but it's more satisfying to see a heavy one pulling 30 degrees of alpha, just like drifting in the air.

  • @termitreter6545
    @termitreter6545 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Basically, this isnt as much of a plane, it acts more like a "rocket" that uses a jet turbine and wings.
    IRL some jet fighters/interceptors like the F22 actually use similar principles; because the F22 is such a heavy plane, with some bad aero due to stealth design, they use thrust vectoring to 'force' it into tight turns, beyond just using the wings lift. Something like a Eurofighter uses a light carbon construction and giant delta wings instead, so its more reliant on aerodynamics.
    And tbh, the most impressive thing here IMO is the pilots ability to control it. Imagine playing a videogame where you control a plane (think KSP) but you got a static camera... must be a ton of experience.

    How is it rolling in hover? It doesnt have air to redirect with ailerons, and i dont think you can do rolling with thrust vectoring.

  • @herskerhans

    How do you have roll controll while hovering? there is no air blowing over the ailerons?

  • @urano1988
    @urano1988 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    How do you control the roll when hoovering? Without air flow the aero surfaces are effectless and the thrust vectoring should only act on pitch and yaw, am I wrong?

  • @atw9913

    When I first started flying in the late 80's RC Jets did not exist. The only thing available was glow powered ducted fans and those things were extremely under performing. At our club there was an F-20 Tigershark that in order to take off had to be held at the far end of a paved runway, put to full throttle then pushed by 2 people as hard as possible to maybe get enough speed to take off. If the grass was tall and not cut it probably would not make it. Amazing how times have changed.
