I had a puncture through a pothole and was given exactly the same clap-trap by the council and their insurance as this caller explains. On the day I had my puncture at least 6 - 8 cars also had a puncture at the same spot. Talking to the driver of the recovery truck, he said that they'd towed away at least 25 cars in that week alone at the same spot, all of the drivers had reported this to the council as I did. This situation is an absolute disgrace as we now have £12Billion of potholes on UK roads and it seems councils are getting out of their responsibility to keep the roads in good order by using this silly 28 day rule. In my opinion if there is a pothole, which is causing damage to multiple vehicles then they should have a legal responsibility to repair that pothole immediately.
Potholes everywhere now, the highway agency is failing. There is therefore a need for a court decision to say that the current legislation of inspection is inefficient. Something needs to be done. Roads in third world countries are much better kept than in our country here... it's shameful frankly
The Uk has become a third world country. We need other countries to send us aid because the shower of a government and the weak opposition we have have sold us all down the river constantly cutting services we are paying for.
Do you want to pay more council tax? That's the problem, councils have lost so much of their money from central government over 14 years but can't raise council tax higher than 5% without a local referendum. The biggest problem is the ageing population, people who didn't earn enough to pay for their own social care so the council has to step in and provide the bare minimum for them
1:20 Check out the big brains on Daniel ! I didn’t think council would be responsible, we really just need to slow down and pay attention to the road. We know roads are terrible and weather destroys them.
I hit a pothole recently. Damaged my wheel, which had to be fixed, and had to have my tracking done. Didn't occur to me to try to litigate it, because is it worth it? Hit the same pothole again the other day. Repairs needed again.
@harrismazari5484 not only does that make zero sense, you sound like a total pussy insulting people for no reason. We both know you wouldn't have the balls face to face
@@drummingtildeath sorry didn't realise your car had no breaks and your eye sight in metres is even lower than your IQ. lol. Seriously sue your school you are gonna win.
