I can watch this another 100 times...and I'll tear up every time I see Jason Bonham look up in tribute to his dad. Amazing performance by the Wilson sister, and the choir was superb!
I think this really hit Robert Plant, he doesnt like the song, doesnt play it in his shows.. BUT i dont care if he likes the song or not but to see & watch this must have hit the heart strings & made him a bit overwhelmed at just how iconic Led Zeppelin were.. You can only reflect back on life when you are older..
I think he was thinking about John he did not know Jason was going to be there That may have got him thinking about Bonzo I like to think he was wishing his friend was there Dam im tearing up just thinking about that Peace to ya @@macisback9059
A bit of background for you Veli, the gentlemen they kept showing are the remaining members of Led Zeppelin. This is probably their most well known song. Zeppelin was being honored at the Kennedy Center with honors. The ladies performing are a pair of sisters who formed the band Heart (also worthy of reactions). Heart are HUGE Led Zeppelin fans. The drummer is the son of Zeppelin's drummer who passed away in 1980. Long story short, the Wilson sisters were honoring Led Zeppelin, and they absolutely nailed it.
The drummer is son of Zep's drummer John Bonham, RIP. He grew up around the guys inbthd balcony, who were all like uncles to him. They did not know he was going to be there! They were caught off guard themselves.... This song is one of, if not, the most iconic songs in RocknRoll history!!! Songs like Stairway to Heaven, Freebird, Hotel California, etc....the best of the best
The original drummer, John Bonham, was known for wearing bowler hats. That is why his son and the chorus in the back were all wearing them as a tribute to John.
Led Zeppelin have left a great legacy for the world of music. When tribal people hear their work for the first time they are almost always amazed that such music exists and usually want to hear more.
Another note for you Veli… The Kennedy Center Honors are the absolute height of performers who have impacted American culture. This is the absolute best of the absolute best…
Every December since 1978 the Kennedy Center Honors several guests. Musicians, actors, and other cultural figures. Performances are to Honor their achievements. Usually the current President attends
Being from Seattle Washington USA like Heart, I can say Ann Wilson has a voice like none other. Thank you for your honest reaction to the Wilson sisters.
The kid sitting behind the Drum Kit was Jason Bonham, The son of John Bonham, The original Drummer from back in the day, He is playing his Fathers Drum Kit that he used on that Tour from back in the day!
Whoever recommended this to you should have recommended that you did the original led Zeppelin version first , you would have got even more out of it than you did. The three surviving members of led zeppelin , the men with the ribbons round their necks are vocalist and Lyricist Robert Plant , keyboard and bassist John Paul Jones and the greatest guitairist of all time and founding member and producer Jimmy Page . The performance is a tribute to them which is why the camera focuses on them so much. The most moving thing about this performance is their reaction to it. The drummer of the band was the late John Bonham and it was his son Jason that was aying on drums this performance . John Bonham and Robert Plant were friends from a young age before LZ was formed so that is part of why he is so emotional. The story is that Jason B kept it a secret that he was playing which explains robert Plants reaction when he sees him on stage. The song was composed by Jimmy Page and is one of his many standout pieces of music. He does a guitar solo on the MSG 1973 performance which is legendary. RP then added the lyrics which are complex and open to interpretation but which at the core have a message about turning away from materialism and seeking spiritulaity and hapiness for the natural world. This was part of the intelligent ideals of the hippy movement from the 1960's and are recurring themes in their music. Be careful about the comments thatRobert PLant "hates " this song it has turned into internet hyperbole. He has very carefully explained that he doesn't like having to sing then same songs every time he performs and ther was a time when everyone wanted to hear this and secondly that he as an older man finds the lyrics less convincing than he did when he wrote them in his early 20's . He has never done anything but compliment Jimmy Pages beautiful peice of music. Robert Plant prefers the song Kashmir and likes that to be regarded as his lyric writing legacy. Led Zeppelin were a pioneering heavy rock ,folk rock and blues band who remain influential to this day . As you liked the music of this song so much you shpuld dive into led zep. you might try since i've been loving you, whole lotta love , dazed and confused to start . you are going to love them.
@@VeliGoXtreme my apologies. I didn’t see it before. I went back and looked and you sure did. lol. I guess I was just too excited. Thank you for taking the time to let me know. 🤗

Dude missed the surprise that you had to see. He didn't even realize that there were 100 more people singing suddenly, he doesn't understand the magnitude of what just happened because his eyes were closed. Clueless!!!
@@bullus41 I see this with so many people. I was at the Pink Floyd pulse concert at Earl's court London in 94. Imagine what I would have missed if I had my eyes closed. Mind you, they were streaming with tears for most of the gig. Just watched some young dude who watched it and spent his entire time looking into the camera and trying to look cool despite not being able to click his fingers in time with the music which made him look a complete dickhead.
All the orchestration drowns out Nancy’s voice. Overproduction👎a much simpler stripped down presentation spotlighting Nancy’s talent would have impressed me

Ann Wilson has one has one of the most powerful female voices in rock!!! Check out more of HEART.
the emotion on Robert Plant's face gets to me every time I see this video
Robert Plant is still touring this summer 2024 with Allison Krauss.
Robert Plant seemed overwhelmed....Jimmy Page was just so happy...loved the bowler hats...just awesome

I saw someplace that the LED Zeppelin members did not know Bonham’s son was going to be there, so were surprised when he stepped up to the drums.
Great comment and perfectly said!!!
I always close my eyes on this song to listen
Sure did!
Well stated. Truly...
So great that his son was on drums. And my heart is full of joy, seeing President & First Lady Obama.

BEST TRIBUTE I HAVE EVER HEARD
I just wish Ann’s voice hadn’t been so drowned. She’s a legend.
They laid this out!!! Legends honoring Legends ..,.. #Priceless
I cannot even imagine having written something like that...and years later being honored for it at the Kennedy Center...WOW. Thank you!
Nice Reaction. For the true version Led Zeppelin 1973 Madison Square Garden. It will blow your mind.

The most beautiful song ever, and thank you for the appreciation of good music!!
The band thoroughly enjoyed this and so glad they were (with the exception of Bonham) here to receive the honor. RIP John Bonham
Obama? Yuck ....the worst other than Biden! Thank God Trump is going to win!!!!
Zeppelin in the audience...fabulous! Now watch Zeppelin do it 1973 at Madison Square Garden!!!

It is good to see honest reactions. Thank u 🙏🏾
Jason said, let’s do it so that Robert likes it. He is notorious for not liking this song.
Brought him to tears.

I love this song it’s amazing Bev
For context, please listen to the original by the band Led Zeppelin. That’s what this tribute is all about.
You most do this song live 1973 MSG. Led Zeppelin are the original artistry of this song. To be truly appreciated you need to hear Zeppelin
If I am not mistaken that song was done after his son passed away
Linam still crying
Omg you gotta do Disturbed’s version of Sound of Silence. Your skin will try to crawl off you!

Question:- what do call a video being experienced by a person with their eyes closed?
Answer:- Radio.
