Loved this. I find that it will not be perfect circular rings. In Toronto, the transitional zone seeps far to the east disproportionately to the quick progression of wealth to the west. there is evidence of much more dated industrial buildings in the east of the down town core, however, there are also small concentrations of extreme wealth in Torontos east as compared to a relatively stable middle class to the west.
That's an important point for students to remember- no model is exact, but paired with knowledge and observation, can be used to show trend and phenomena effectively. Love hearing your perspective from Toronto!
Sorry I didn't see this in time to answer before the makeup! That said, Concentric Zone model was a model more centered on explaining North American cities, so not sure I'd characterize this as a big concern/flaw in the model, only that you should know that it doesn't apply exactly the same for European cities. Part of this is because the cities in Europe are much older, so the historic centers function differently than the industrial centers did in North American cities. Part of it is also because North American cities developed according to transportation innovations.
You explanation was good but you weren't using the correct words, like the 2nd one is called inner city, the 3rd is called inner suburbs, the 4th is called outer suburbs, and the last one is called the commuter zone.
Depends on the source. I would suggest knowing it several ways, but I don't think you would have it written ambiguously on the test. Thanks for the feedback, glad the video was helpful!
Cool video, love how you calmly explain the subject then heavy metal starts

Isn't a huge problem with the model that outside of North America, the inner city was actually more desirable than outer suburbs?

Burgess was a sociologist, not a geographer.
