Eddie makes a good point about the size of the pitch at Walsh park. I don’t think there’s much scope to widen the pitch as it’s stuck between the road at the front and houses at the back. The obvious choice was to redevelop Fraher Field in Dungarvan, much more room to develop with the training pitch at the front, more parking and close to the town.
People go on and on about Walsh park not suiting Waterford. They've lost one game there in two years. The opportunity to develop a stadium out in Carriganore was turned down because the County Board in the east and west of the county couldn't agree what day of the week it is
Hegarty should have taken mcinerys leg off from the knee down and then should have been awarded a free in for mcinerny not making any effort whatsoever to move the 13 m back.
Wild swings are those that endanger other players or seen as not being an effort to play the ball. Its lazy commentary to suggest Hegarty made a wild swing for the sideline ball and belted it at McInerney. It's very clear to see that he pulled on the ball up the sideline away from McInerney
It’s gas to hear Eddie talk about a lad taking a cut quickly as an offence… there were plenty lads on those Kilkenny teams who didn’t back down at any stage and were respected for it… Call it out as a crap decision - pundits have a lot to answer for in creating that narrative.. that is why Hegarty is getting his “reputation”… start sending divers off, that is the real issue..
Hegarty shouldn’t have been sent off, but from other angles I can see why they thought he pulled a stroke. It’s his reputation that got him sent off, and that’s his own fault.
Linesman was right beside it, its clear as day even the ref should see it hegarty was looking at him with his arms uo in the air and then someone shot the clare man, anyone see the sniper in ennis??
The media love fest with Waterford is laughable. 6 minutes talking about them then mention Hoggy and move on. Waterford are the poor relation in hurling. Look at the state of there stadium look at the history of all Ireland’s. If cork played the way Waterford did Sunday they would be hammered for being soft and need to man up but when it’s waterford it’s the pitch or a red card.
Wouldn't blame hego if he walks away from the game...being targeted continuously by opposition players and refs and gets world of abuse off the ball. We have been saying it for a while now in limk...there is an anti limk bias in media and online keyboard warriors against this team.
Just comes with the territory of being the best.. People were getting excited about Limerick's poor league form and nobody has come close to beating them in Munster and that's where all the hate is stemming from

He didn't, Hayes made a run but it was covered, there was no quick ball on up that direction

He clearly swung across the player. That's a yellow card no matter who it is.
