The short answer is: "because we could" (meaning I have my own jig that I built for that purpose and hence, why not use it on a new glider too?) . The better answer is because we wanted to have a baseline of what the glider trim was like coming out of the factory so that we could to compare to the results of the same measurement in 100 hours from now, when it is actually suggested to have the glider checked... It's totally not necessary to do that out of the box and we indeed totally trust that Ozone has great QA processes in their factory. However, it is a fascinating to see the science and art that goes into glider trimming that manufacturers apply. Gliders, fresh of the factory, are actually not trimmed to the specs that they publish. They are trimmed in a way that accounts for the initial shrinkage and settling of the lines that will inevitably occur after some hours.
I was just wondering why you did it lol, seems like a waste of time that's all... I live in an area with 3 glider manufacturers and help one of them in my time off doing checks...
Well that’s a very broad question. I designed and made it. There are several videos on TH-cam of line measuring and everybody who does it usually build their own jig
I did a test flight last sunday. Incredible launch behavier.
Yeah dudes!! Mines on its way 😎
You are going to love it! custom colors?
Loved it guys! You rock!
Bro, they are fire!! So good to open a new wing.. 🤘🤘🪂🔥
Why check the lines out of the box? Pretty sure Ozone would make sure the trim is ok... nice colours by the way!
