I think this video should be required to be viewed by anyone administering the mini cog test. I had a nurse give me this test incorrectly! She gave me 3 words....football, apple, clock. I still remember them. The she said "Draw a clock face." I did with all the numbers in the correct places. I was waiting for her to say a time but instead she started yelling "It is wrong! It is wrong! Look at it!" I thought I was losing my mind. I checked and double checked the numbers. Then she got frustrated and left. She told the doctor that I failed because I didn't put the hands to the clock on the clock face. I told him that I hsd given the test recently and that you give a time for the hands to be drawn. The nurse said "Not with the medicare test, you only say "Draw a clock face." I left my doctor's office in tears. I went home and downloaded every government document that has information on administering the mini cog. They ALL say to give a time. I found lots of articles on the accuracy of the test but not a single one that addressed nurses or health professionals that don't read the directions and don't give the test correctly.
I am with you in that! I was like uhhh... and what if we never learned how to use a clock because math was not our best subject? They may have to change this test in the future haha
Forget the Republican debate , just give Trump etal one of these " " check up from the neck up" right before the election. I'd say the results tell us much.
It does not help if one is angry at being told to take this test. The test was developed in Canada about 1996 when the Clintons were riding high. Added to Medicare so called wellness exams under Obama Care. I have no use for the Clintons, Obama or for that matter any democrat. The test is insulting, degrading, and humiliating. It is a revenue stream for the practice. I was so pissed off I forgot one of the three words. For me it is all about the politics. They were not surprised when I declined the new COVID vaccine. It is all politics for me.
