Adebayor hasnt been half the player he was last season. Kaboul and Sandro have been out. So considering all these things i think rather than look negatively on what we have missed out on i think we should congratulate the players that have come in and made a difference and of course Andre!!!
I think we should sign soldado, a creative midfielder like moutinho or eriksson, a quality LB, a cheap back up goalkeeper and another young striker/wing forward if bale is going to continue player the number 10 role onwards and upwards COYS
Doesn't really say alot. He can't cut it at a top four club IMO. Shaw is younger and already has expirience. He can learn to link to our players as well.
I was merely disagreeing with your point as a football fan, not neccessarily as a gooner. better defensive midfielders: de rossi, cambiasso, martinez, busquets, alonso, khedira, possibly song. additionally, kaboul may be similar to kompany but is not as good in each of the departments you listed while arguably also not as positionally aware. i would say anything over 15mil for kaboul would be extremely generous.
just because they play international football doesnt auto-matically guarantee they are worth huge amounts of money. sebastian squillaci and kleberson were capped for france and brazil respectively yet i dont think many would splash £50mil on them. realistically, it would be very generous to assume you could get more than 35mil for them. and why does voicing my opinion make me sad?
Once again let down by the depth of the squad .. we didn't lose it yesterday, we lost it against Fulham, Wigan, Norwich, West Brom, Stoke at home, sides with no disrespect, we should have been able to beat. For me the slow start to the season given the Modric and Moutinho transfer farce was fatal. Will Levy learn? missing out on Moutinho by 40 minutes - joke and was this true anyway? the striker situation is a joke - no top 4 side has had to make do with 2 strikers in the squad.

Name be a better defensive midfielder than Sandro in the world? that's worth at least 30 mil in it self, also being Brazilian captain before makes him international quality. Kaboul is a similar player to Kompany, super strong, quick, great in the air and you will see his qualities next season with super Jan. Again became a France regular before his injury, proven premier league quality at least 20 mil..

additionally: schweinsteiger/ sven bender/ gundogan are also central defensive midfielders who many would consider better than sandro.
