To do your canopy tie, did you just tie a running bowline and cinch it from the ground after throwing your rope? I learned base tying, but you can't transition to drt after unless you have a ground guy to untie your base anchor. I always climb/work alone
How has using the bowline with your hitch climber worked out? I use a tight spliced eye as recommended by dmm, but i have a couple lines with no splices that id use if safe. Seems like if you make the loop big enough it shouldnt interfere with the hitch.
