- Ninebot Max G2 has potentially dangerous front suspension issue and I have to share it with you. Ninebot says it's OK, but I'm not sure about it, so I'm pulling out of buying it.
UPDATE: Big thanks to viewers and comments. So front suspension comes like that from factory and error -0 is combination lock on the escooter.

So, the -0 thing is not an error, it is the screen where you enter your 4 number pin code using the combination of direction light switch + brake or horn button. It is actually really good and useful when the battery of your phone dies so you cant use the phone to unlock the scooter.
Your scooter has the sound alarm disabled as it would be beeping really loud with its horn if you tried to move it in that state and flashing lights.
The suspension thing is like that when you buy it (I own one from a batch from the end of last year, im in Europe), it seems to be by design so it can properly engage with the the rest of the "fork shaft" when you stand on the scooter or hit a bump. I have about 500km on mine and a lot of it on rough dirt terrain and it is fine for now.
Thank you for the info provided. Unfortunately, it's not my eScooter, and I couldn't find info about "error -0" before publishing the video, and the user manual isn't with me.
@@escootIreland No problem my dude, glad I could help out. If your friend remembers which 4 digit password he set up in the app, you just need that to unlock it and use it again. Maybe there is some default pin that is set up from the factory, I am unsure of that and cant check the manual for you atm.
@pawnyexpress eScooter was shipped to him the other day, so hopefully, he will get itnsorted out. Thank you so much for the info and help.
Pin code and motion control can be set in the app under additional settings.
Maybe you can test with the suspension loaded, I think this type of suspension by design will have play unloaded (no weight)
everyone got this play. Doesn't seem to affect the riding. I got more than 2000km
Thanks for that info. At stock speed Im pretty sure it will last quite a while. With unlocked speed or field weakening unlock, Im not sure. Also it will depend a lot on roads and riding style.
Thanks for explaining design problems in front fork of Max G2. I believe front suspension was not properly designed and potential consumers should think twice before buying such scooter. I have ninebot MAX G30P and to make scooter softer I installed fork with springs. After about 150 km. I lubricated the fork inside, added rubber gaskets under the springs, covered the nickel-plated surfaces with pair of motorcycle Front Fork Gaiter Dust Covers because they are too low and after each trip they need to be cleaned of dust, dirt and lubricated. Scooter become 15 - 20% softer with much better impact on front wheel bearings.
Yes, I absolutely agree, and that's why I made a video about it. As I always say that if I spot something or change my opinion, I'll always post an update. Thanks for watching and leaving the comment. Feel free to share it if you know someone who has it.
Wow! I'm so glad I dodged this model and took last summer the Xiaomi 4 Ultra and I'm autumn the P65E. Until this day I got ~ 4000 km combined with 0 issues. Keep up the good work and the good information for all us out there. God bless you
Thank you for watching and leaving a comment. If you know anyone having Ninebot max G2 or planning of getting one, please share it with them.
Hi i am planning to buy the 4 ultra, what are your impressions about it?
@steve-132 I didn't try 4 ultra, but Navee S65c is basically the same eScooter, and I love it. Only down side is that it's a bit heavy and bulky. Everything else is perfect.
thanks
Unfortunately, all scooters of this model have this defect. Even when they are new. There is a solution option, for this you need to replace the front fork with another one with a different design
Thank you for the info. Ill update video description.
Greetings! What do you think about the Inmotion Air Pro? I heard the handle bars break (thin metal), but aside from that, it’s supposedly a solid scooter. 🤷♂️
Inmotion overall has really good products and this is the first time I have heard about problems with them. Inmotion as a brand is on my buying list.
I see you got the information about the PIn code and motion alarm, another feature, you get 4 way flasher if you press twice on the directions...good for visibility when passing close to parked cars.
Oh, that's some good info. Hopefully, they'll sort out the suspension issue because I really like it. Thank you for the info provided, watching and leaving a comment.
same problem
And kugoo g2 master wath you think?
Kugoo used to do pretty bad eScooters for a long time. Their layest models finally look better. I might make a video about it if I get my hands on one of them.
If I ordered this scooter and it arrived with the play, I would not be happy at all
Based on some comments, it comes like that out of the box. I'm quite surprised no reviewers noticed it. But I did notice a bit of a wobble but toughy it's because of the road. Never even thought it could be a manufacturing/design issue.
All of these scooter you are have a problem...
Sorry but I dont understand comment. Not all eScooters have problems but problems are topic rarely discussed on TH-cam. There is much more content praising eScooters than talking about problems expect people looking for help.
