    • @BoskiM
      @BoskiM 3 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      I bet you this tilapia will taste much better (and be good for you) than the Chinese variants that are full of chemicals

    • @davidadade529
      @davidadade529 3 ปีที่แล้ว +35

      If you are looking at fish production. Please stick with the recomended guide lines on fish stocking levels. Ive had many failures as well as sucesses. With the littile i do know, still learning all the time i now have a little more experience. I think the major thing i have learned is to identify when the fish are not happy a few days before problems arise. This takes time.
      Tilapia require clean water. If the water is dirty they stop eating if they are stressed they stop eating. A few dead fish could pollute the water and cause you to lose the stock.
      How we achieved the high densitey stocking levels as follows: When the sun is out the fish go down to the bottom. We decided to shield the tanks from the sun.The fish now used the whole 2m depth of water.From the outside to the inside there is about a 3 foot drop. The fish waste eventually make it to the center of the tank. The roof of the tank redirects water into the tank. Every bit of clean rain water helps
      We recycle the water and pass it though a drum filter, this filtering is continuous. Tilapia produce hundreds of eggs. You could start off with 5,000 fish and end up with 10,000 in no time at all. The filtering not only takes the fish waste out the water but allso removes the the fish eggs (fry). In addition, we also replaced 20,000 litres of water every 10 days or so again this action removes the fry out the water. We had aerators attached to a primary and backup power solar supplys.
      If the fish are not eating they are not growing. I think I read somewhere that fish excrete a chemical when overcrowded, this would make sense as a natural protection. Time to harvest was about 10 months we achived the regular size, size 1 and size 2.
      The two major issues we had were power especially for the aerators during the rainy season. It doesn’t matter how may solar panels you have to charge your batteries, if there is no sun the batteries just would not charge. The second issue was the filters in the tank, we used a dome basket about 1.5 meters diameter covered in mesh, the mesh being big enough to allow the fry through to be sucked out. Cleaning this was always challenge.
      The tank is more of a controlled environment but it’s very unforgiving if you make a mistake or a piece of equipment fails
      I think the key question here is would I stock the 5000 again. I think yes would be the answer.

Come, Seek information, analyze, plan and Make informed decision, to help make a difference . “UK is pretty much dead, the competition is too much.” So it’s clear ; struggle everywhere but the feeling of being home where you wake up with less stress is evident in most African countries. Good morning Wode Maye, I started following your channel from the video where you purchased a car for your mom. And mostly your travels with miss Trudy.
    Recently a man or woman who goes by the name Retired african kept writing about you.
    Firstly I was surprised when he told me to check you out ( although I watch you already). You are making such a big impact its amazing.
    Its amazing how I wanted so badly to leave ghana and today I dream of the moment when I will be able to visit and show my new family what I call HOME.
    Have a beautiful day ahead a and thank you.

    I had to look twice,because this man looks like my eldest brother who lives in the UK,of which his father died.
    I love what the people are doing when they return to Africa. Many are in the US doing what's expected of them (being lazy,unproductive,
    stealing etc),brilliant minds going to waist. The Bible says that men are to eat from their labor,so it's good to see men(mankind),doing something good and also creating jobs for their fellow men. Nice video.
